Emily's phone is silent.

Oddly silent.

She had thought that by now she would have received a barrage of messages and emails from the superiors at the national training center or even a death threat by Yejune herself. But her phone as been eerily silent of any notifications apart from the weather app alerting her to heavy rainfall.

In fact, the only people who have contacted her, are reporters of smaller news sites, asking for an exclusive interview. Emily hasn't even opened those messages because she doesn't even know how she is supposed to reply to them. She cannot exactly go and turn to her coaches at the national training center for help, since Emily doubts they would want to hear from her right now, and so she decided the best thing to do perhaps is to ignore those messages.

The fire has already been built but that does not mean Emily needs to feed it and grow it larger.

"We will stop at Ilsan Bus Terminal in ten minutes. We will now be stopping at Ilsan. Ilsan."

The automated bus announcement took Emily's thoughts away from her and forced her to look away from the window and to her belongings. The four day weekend couldn't have come at a better time and Emily is thankful to be able to go home to her grandmother for some peace and quiet.

As sad as it usually sounds, her grandma has not installed wifi in her home, forcing Emily to not spend time online and be one with the nature, especially if she does not want to use up her phone data quickly. Normally, she would detest it, but right now, Emily is glad she won't have wifi. It will take her mind elsewhere and away from everything that is going on right now.

Besides, her grandmother really is the only family member that is talking to her currently and Emily would like for it to remain this way.

After getting off the bus and thanking the driver for handing over her duffel bag to her from the bus's storage area, Emily headed over to the local bus stop. Ilsan is not a very big city, at least not as big as Seoul, and so within fifteen minutes Emily found herself pulling into the street where her grandmother lives, wistfully staring into the sky that threatened heavy downpour anytime. In fact, rain drops have already started to drop and Emily's glad she's almost home since she doesn't have an umbrella on her.

Pushing past the iron gates and then towards the main door, Emily pushes the bell button before yelling out, "Halmeoni! I'm home"

Emily could hear steps from the other side of the door and she prepared herself to hug her grandmother, only to have her jaw dropped ad be shell shocked at the person who opened the door.

A few frozen moments passed before Emily's mother said, "Well...aren't you going to come in?"

Emily sat on the bed in the room she usually stays in whenever she visits her grandmother. The room is small and rectangular with a single bed, a small table facing the window and a closet to put in her belongings. There is a movable floor length mirror hiding in the closet that Emily had bought two years ago, when she first moved to Korea and discovered her grandmother has not a single floor length mirror in the home.

The shock Emily felt when the door opened to reveal her mother had been so intense that her heart is still racing even forty minutes later.

At first she had hoped this was all just a terrible nightmare but when the first shower of heavy rain started hitting her, she realized this is real.

Then she considered what to do. Emily had half a mind just to turn around on spot wordlessly and go back to Sebong. Alas, she did not have the courage to do. She was so shock upon seeing her mother that her brain had not really processed any of her thoughts.
