The house buzzed with life, the kind that only a special occasion could bring. The fragrance of fresh marigold garlands mixed with the rich, smoky aroma of incense wafted through the air, wrapping the space in a sacred warmth. Every corner seemed alive—draped in vibrant hues of orange, yellow, and red, with intricate rangoli designs adorning the entrance, made from powdered colors and fresh petals. Maa, Sidharth, Naira, Preeti di, Neetu di, and Jijus are all dressed in Indian attire.
Voices rose and fell like waves, a blend of laughter, instructions, and chants. The kitchen was a hub of activity, with the clattering of pots and pans accompanied by the tantalizing aroma of ghee-laden sweets and savory dishes. Aunties worked tirelessly, their bangles jingling as they stirred, kneaded, and fried, while children darted around, giggling and occasionally being scolded for disrupting the flow. In the living room, the pathway and every corner are beautifully decorated with brass diyas, the center of the hall has a kalash placed with a Ganesh Ji's idol adorned with ornaments, and offerings of fruits and sweets. A priest sat cross-legged in front of it, preparing the items for the ritual, his rhythmic chants creating an aura of devotion. The soft hum of the shankh signaled the start of the puja, drawing everyone together. The atmosphere was electric yet serene, filled with the anticipation of blessings and the joy of coming together. The house was upbeating with some guests.
Naira- Maamu yahan beth jaao na aap pandit ji bol rahe h
Sid- Mera wahan kya kaam
Maa- are buddhu tera hi kaam hai. Go now
Sid then chuckled and sat down on one of the mats folding his legs and joined his hands.
Pandit ji- Ab maa ko bulaiye
Sid- Mommm!! aapko bulaa rahe hai pandit ji
Sana- Ye gaddha ka gaddha hi rahega mujhe bulaa rahe hai
Sana came out of the room holding his back, Naira and Preeti di supporting her from either side. She looked breathtakingly beautiful and Sidharth was lost in his beauty and her glowing skin. The most adoring thing was he was more in love with the reason she was glowing so much.
Sana- ab pakdega mujhe aake ya nahi bas raat tak ka hi kaam tha tera
Everyone laughed at her naughty jokes when Sidharth too laughed at himself and got up to hold his 7-month pregnant wife.
Sid- Maa banner wali hai gaddhi aur ab bhi gaddho wali harkat karti hai tu (he lovingly pats her head then kissed her temples)
Sana- Ahhh ammaa matt kiya ka ese chummi achanak se tera baccha tere hi tarah hai lambe taango wala itta kas ke maar raha hai laat
Sid- Better wo mere tarah hi bane warna toh lag gaye bhai apni toh
Maa- ab tum logon ka ho gya ho toh puja shuru kare?
Sana- ji maa
Sid carefully and very gently made Sana sit down on the chair and sat down on his mat, his whole family gathered. Shehbaaz was sitting with Naira when the puja started he had tears in his eyes seeing his sister finally happy, and starting her own family. Naira nudged her elbow against his arm.
Naira- Baaz bhaiya Sana ka kanyadaan nahi ho raha...godbharai hai aaj kanya aapki pehle se daan ho chuki hai humein
Shehbaaz- (laughed) han merko malum hai bas khush hu mottu ko khush dekh ke
Naira- Naam soche kya aap
Shehbaaz- tereko lagta hai wo mere baat pe rakhegi kabhi uske baccho ke naam
Sana- tumhe pata hai na ki mere kaan sahi salaamat hai aur mein tum dono ko sunn sakti hu
Sid- shaanti se tereko betha nhi jaa rha? wo log apna kch baat kar rahe hai karne dena
