Tre

We wave as Pea walks across the stage. Even though they asked that we save our applause until the very end, we couldn't help it. We were so proud of her.
All of them become victorious after so many obstacles were thrown at their feet. They elevated themselves and soared above all hurdles. After the millions of they were knocked down, they got back up and kept moving. This family loved unconditionally byme but I'm lucky to have them.
"Her pine cone head ass really did it." Boon laughs at his own joke.
"Pine cone?" I chuckle.
"Knowin yo head shaped like a deformed potato and to be talkin bout my lil sista." Islan clowns.
"Let's not get on how heads shaped cause,"
We look over and Elaine was walking slowly towards us. Boon smile instant vanishes. I touch his back. "She's been doing better."
"I ain't say shit but if we talkin bout heads, his mama head shaped like a damn hammerhead shark." He whispers.
I nudge him.
"Boon, Islan and Tre. I just wanted to come over and say hello. She had gained her weight, so her face is fuller. She's dressed nicely, and she smiles just like Boon. She's truly a beautiful woman.
"Hey ma." Islan hugs her.
"How you doing Elaine?" I speak.
"Good. I'm good." Her eyes avert towards Boon. "I was able to catch your game on tv last week. My friend can't believe how good you are."
"Yeah. That's what's up." I rub his back some more.
"We are throwing a little party back at the lake..."
Boon turns to look at me with a displeased expression. "Na, don't do that."
I clear my throat. "Thank you for coming."
"It's fine. I need to be getting back home anyways." She fakes a smile.
This white man comes up beside her. He's not exactly attractive but he seems very nice. "Elaine, I have the car ready."
"Thank you Frank." She say's gently. "These are my sons."
"We just Islan and Boon." Boon reintroduces them.
"Ahh, yes. I heard so much about each and every one of you. What you all have did is remarkable. I have nothing but adoration for how you all turned a difficult situation into a great success." He sticks out his hand and we notice a glove.
"Sorry, I know it's weird to be wearing this in the warm weather. I lost a few fingers at a factory I use to work at."
"Damn, that's fucked up. Was you able to get paid?" Boon asked.
He laughs. "Yes I was. I own the company now."
"Shit Laine, you struck big. Got you a man with money. Guess putting down that bottle finally help you see clearly."
