Immediately I converted back to being a child here. We decided to revisit old house. Just standing outside I could feel my skin crawl of all the roaches that would sometimes fall on you while you sleep at night. Boon sat in the car with Pea. The twins stood beside me. "Are they going to tear this place down?"
"I hope so." I begin to walk towards the door.
"You sure?" I look behind me at Tre.
"Feels like I need to." I shrug.
"Then I'm going inside as well."
"Tre, I don't want you to see this."
"I already know everything." He smiles.
"But you really seeing this shit is different." Embarrassing is the word I'm looking for.
He wraps his arms around me from behind. "It's me we're talking about. You don't ever need to feel that way with me." I try relaxing in his arms and at the sound of his voice. "There is no part of you I don't wanna know. I said I loved you and all things you."
I remove his hands so I can turn to face him and pull him into my chest. My arms wrap around with a tight squeeze. Then I avert my eyes towards Boon. He shakes his head. "Don't look like we all going in."
Tre looks back at Boon too. "Boon in you see things differently. You think facing the past will help you to overcome it. He thinks leaving it behind will help him. Two things can be true at once."
"I know."
"Well, I think we have stood out here long enough. Ready to go inside?" I loosen my grip and take his hand.
"Yeah."
I unlock the door and we walk inside.

"I feel them pretty ass eyes on me." I watch as my family enters the house of fucked up memories.
"Thought you was going in."
"Um here fah all them. This shit is pointless to me. Why would I want anything to do with shit that made my life a living hell?"
"It's about facing it. Comforting your past and telling it that though it's apart of you it doesn't get to win."
"It didn't win. I don't need to walk into that broke down ass building to confirm that."
"You don't have to. It was just a suggestion." Zay rubs my thigh.
"Didn't even realize my leg was shaking."
"Can you tell me about any good memories that came from this home?"
I laugh sarcastically. "Depends on yo definition of good."
"Angel, you said with Islan, Pea and the twins there were some."
"I remember the one year Islan called himself cooking us thanksgiving dinner because Elaine had went on one of her three day disappearances. Prolly off somewhere on her knees fah Tre daddy."
