Dear Gentle Readers,
It seems strange, does it not when the invisible becomes visible. Why do we try so hard to hide our true selves away. When that is the most interesting aspect of ourselves. Living in a society where all ladies are bred to believe that the men hold all the power is naive.
We can't be afraid to stand for what we believe is right.
Why try hiding, dear readers, when to be free all we have to do is simply be ourselves and then we will truly find a purpose in this world.
May I be the first to officially congratulate Miss Cressida Cowper and Lord Andrew Fife for their rushed engagement. It is wonderful that for once I write something positive and not the opposite of the young Miss Cowper who will make a very fine bride, to be sure.
Another engagement I am thrilled to announce is that of Lord Charles Cho and Miss Emma Kenworthy. Good tidings, indeed. There is something most charming about the exchanged glances between these two lovebirds in public that warms the soul.
If this news is not enough, I hear her majesty has put a warrant out for Lord Nigel Berbrook in anticipation for letting him know officially that his title is to be rebuked. One could only hazard a guess to the excuses that this gentleman, I use this word in jest, will use to discredit our Mr Norton.
I regret to inform you that this will be the last sheet I write under my synonym. Like all chapters of a book. Every one needs to unfortunately end. So I will simply leave you with one word, dear readers. Take care of one another.
Goodbye.
A Year Later, Aubrey Hall
You never believe parents when they tell you that children grow up so fast. Edmund keeps trying to pull himself up onto furniture before his little legs give out. His laughter is so infectious and every day I swear he gets bigger or his hair grows a little more.
Heaven help us when he starts to walk, there will be no stopping him. Colin barely leaves his side, there could never be such a worthy father to help with the void the other left.
Pen walked outside for some much needed fresh air. She let the blanket drape over her shoulders. Sat on a chair with her cup of tea. Watching the darkness roll in.
She heard the sound of laughter from inside. She could see Colin with Edmund inside the large window. He had brought that sweet fits of giggles out of him. She smiled to herself. With a heart that was full, and never wavering.
How strange it was that a small person can bring so much joy and Pen looked up to the stars. She stroked her small baby bump, smiling to herself at how wonderful this life is.
She thought back to her sweet Tommy, remembering how he told her that all she needed to do was look to the stars.
Tommy was right...
Pen gave a small smile and started to walk back into her home.
... Everything was going to be alright.
