The Silent Weight

She keeps her pains and fears to herself,
With a heavy soul and a heart oppressed,
Her eyes may smile, but inside she cries,
She’s afraid of being seen as fragile, as lost.

The world demands strength, demands a smile,
But inside, the storm never stops,
She hides the scars, the emptiness she carries,
Fearing that, if exposed, she’ll be seen as unstable,
A broken woman, out of control, graceless.

She tries to be everything the world expects,
But with each passing day, the mask weighs more,
She needs support, but pride holds her back,
Afraid of being seen as weak, of being rejected,
She remains silent, invisible.

And still, she fights in silence,
Searching for strength that seems to slip away,
But deep inside, she knows the greatest burden
Is the weight of not asking for help, not admitting
That, perhaps, she’ll never find the strength
To open up, to ask, to be seen.

The nights grow longer,
And the weight on her chest only grows,
She continues her solitary walk,
With dry eyes, and a soul without relief,
Not knowing if she’ll ever be able
To let down the walls she built.
