In the arena of Amity Colosseum, Pyrrha, looks hesitant and distracted while Penny politely salutes her opponent.

"Sal-u-tations, Pyrrha Nikos! It's an honor to finally meet you!" Penny greeted with her usual enthusiasm.

The troubled Pyrrha doesn't respond, looking at her hands as she clenches them in bitter determination.

Penny, not noticing Pyrrha's reluctance This is going to be so much fun!

In the same structure behind closed doors, Ruby was face to face with an uninjured Mercury Black, who was smugly smiling at the younger girl's confusion.

"Mercury, what are you doing? You were hurt! Why...What's going on?" Mercury doesn't answer, still grinning. "Fine. If you're not going to tell me." Ruby attempts to move around him, but he blocks her path, she sidesteps only to be blocked again.

"Showtime." Mercury smirked as Oobleck announced the beginning of the fight between Pyrrha & Penny.

Trapped, Ruby rushed forward, activating her semblance, turning into a blur of red petals but just as she darted past, Mercury moved with uncanny precision, intercepting her and slamming her back into the corridor wall with a swift kick. The impact rattled the door behind her, and Ruby gasped, the wind knocked from her lungs.

Ruby glared, shaking off the attack and pulling out her scroll about to push the button to call for help when a bullet sent the device flying out of her hand.

Mercury lowered his leg from its blast. "Let's just keep this between us friends."

Y/n looked around cautiously as he snuck past the patrols of Atlas soldiers and made his way to Bullhead port. "I need to get out of Beacon, and find Valerie."

Y/n looked over the stack of crates he hid behind as a Bullhead landed and numerous White Fang members poured out quickly and quietly taking down the few Atlas soldiers.

"Spread out, kill any resistance you find, and take the civilians as hostages." A man wearing a black coat with a wilted rose on the back he was a tall bull faunus with red hair, he stepped out from the Bullhead ordering people around.

Y/n ducked behind the crates, reaching for his scroll to inform someone a sudden noise, footsteps pounding closer, made him freeze. He pressed himself flat against the crates just as a shadow fell across him. A hand grabbed his hood, yanking him into the open.

Ruby dodged a swift, precise strike from Mercury, dashing away to make space between them. "Why are you still here? What are you planning?"

"You're tougher than I thought." Mercury taunted, he lunged again, faster this time, but Ruby spun away, weaving through the tight corridor.

"Y/n taught me enough to beat you even without my weapon." Ruby ran at Mercury transforming into a burst of petals, unforming at the last second to kick Mercury in the chest.

Ruby didn't hesitate. She pressed the advantage, spinning into a flurry of petals again, darting around him like a whirlwind.

Mercury's eyes flicked dangerously, but before he could counterattack, Ruby struck again, this time hitting him in the back. "Sit still!" Mercury growled as Ruby used him as a springboard to propel herself down the hallway, Mercury giving chase as soon as he regained balance.
