Lance's Point of View.

"Coran Coran the gorgeous man, how's it going? It's been a while! You've been holed up in the labs for a couple of weeks now." I patted his shoulder.

He looked up to me with a smile and returned the pat on my back. "Ah yes, it really has, hasn't it my boy!" He grinned and elbowed me in the ribs gently.

"And how are you and Keith, eh?"

"Doing well enough." Keith replied.

I turned my head to see the boy in question with his elbow on the door and his leg crossed over like some kind of bad boy. He's already emo enough without that pose!

"What are you working on Coran?" Keith questioned, resting his hand on the back of Coran's chair as he leaned in and squinted.

"Just giving the radar system a bit of an overhaul. With the information that Lance brought over and sent to the Blue lion, we've been giving a huge insight to their cloaking systems. Pidge and I have been working diligently to add these improvements to help predict the next waves of Galra and where they may be hiding, thus ultimately aiding us in our goal!" He zoomed through, leaving both me and Keith visibly and totally behind.

Coran waited a bit for our minds to catch up.

"Oh! That sounds great." Keith suddenly blurted. "As long as we can protect more people, that's good. Have fun with that Coran. I just came to tell Lance that I'm gonna hit the training room." Keith turned on his heels and strutted away like the pretty boy he is.

Hot.

"Will you join him Lance? Or will you spend a bit more time with yours truly?" He raised his eyebrows and fiddled with his moustache.

"I'll stay with you a little longer, Coran. Is there anything I can do to help?" I asked, sitting in the seat next to his and skimming over some of the schematics.

"I just need someone who can reach into the mainframe and fiddle with some of the cabling and motherboards. He stood up and pulled off the panelling to reveal a complicated criss-cross of wires.

I sighed. This was going to take a long time...

Keith's Point of View.

After an hour or two of training I came back to the control room to check up on Lance.

I was worried about him.

I spun my dagger as I strolled in "Hey Lance-"

Lance was sprawled over the floor with a bunch of cables hanging over him. His face was incredibly flushed and his eyes were screwed shut. Coran stood over him worriedly.

"Ah Keith, my boy. Lance appears to have gotten another fever. Shall I help him back to his room?"

For some reason, Lance has been getting on and off fevers over time, so I like to check up on him often and take care of him when they get really bad. Coran's magic medicine and putting him in the pod didn't work either. Identifying what's happening to him is still an ongoing process, but Lance likes to work and keep busy on days that he feels better.

The castle still needed upkeep, and it was hard enough for Coran, Pidge and Matt to do it on their own.

I'm... scared for him. For us.

For Voltron.

I don't think we could ever be the same without him.

I don't think the world could ever be the same without him.

I shook my head out of these thoughts.

"I'll help you get him back," I replied and hoisted his arm over my shoulder.

He was surprisingly much lighter for his size.

He must have been really sick to have not been eating well.

I ended up sweeping him off his feet and carrying him in a princess carry despite his large size.

He deserved to be treated like one after everything he'd been through.

It didn't take long to rush him to his room and lay him down to rest.

"Thanks Keith. I'm worried for him. We're still waiting on the analysis for his blood. The universe has changed vastly during the time we were asleep. It's no wonder that bacteria and similar micro-organisms have evolved as well. Maybe we're all overdue for a few vaccines."

I nodded.

"But anyway, how is Lance's surprise coming along?" I asked him.

We were all working on something together, and it was taking the whole team to develop it.

"Swimmingly. We estimate it should be around 3 more months before it's complete. All we have to do is get Lance's consent and we should be on our way! That boy needs a break. We all do!"

I laughed, "That we do. Have a good one Coran. I'll stay here and help bring his fever down."

"I'll get back to work with the castle's sys-" Coran stopped speaking to cough.

"Castle syste-" He coughed harder.

He covered his mouth and coughed again as if he was retching.

Coran's eyes widened in shock as he looked at his hand and turned it to face me.

It was speckled with blood.

He wasn't getting better.

And neither were we.
