Lance's Point of view
It's been a month since I've finally returned to my second home. But it's not the same anymore - my space family don't treat me in the same way that they used to, and even though I try to act my normal self around them, their smiles are worn, and their eyes hide a deep sadness. I want to be the cause of their happiness, not their sadness.
I walked to the control room for breakfast, carefully adjusting my long sleeves to hide my bloody bandages.
Yeah, I started cutting again. I don't know anymore! I just feel like a stranger here now, as if i don't belong anymore. It's stupid to think that, I know, but it's what I feel deep down. I can't change it, no matter what I do.
And it's been getting worse too.
Lately, I can't help but feel as if I should just disappear. Everyone keeps turning away from me, and I don't know I can take it anymore. In all honesty, I just feel ignored. Like I'm not supposed to exist.
I sat down at the table, and all chatter just suddenly ceased.
Keith looked at me with a smile and I blushed a little
Yeah. I think I have a crush on him. When did I realise that? No idea, it just kind of happened.
I just hope that he can't tell that I blushed right now.
I returned the smile with a greeting.
"What's up guys?"
Keith's Point of view
"What's up guys" Lance asked.
Lance's face flashed a darker shade of purple before quickly returning to its regular purple. Bitch I ain't going to miss that so easily. Oops. My emo slipped out a little.
I was really worried about Lance right now - he had dark circles under his eyes and he looked more worn out than usual - he hasn't even participated in training! He's been resting and gaining his strength the entire time! Or supposed to have been.
He's started cutting again, hasn't he?
In his memories, and for ourselves, we saw his arms littered with the very same cuts that we saw before. Is doing it again?
I have to see for myself later.
Lance continued to chew on his goo ( I honestly don't know why he does, I mean it's not even a proper solid) and I watched him spoon it in his mouth ever so carefully. He always looked so cute when eating.
What?
Within minutes, Lance scraped the plate clean, whilst I still had half of mine left. He's not getting out of my sights that easily. Just as he passed his plate to Coran, I shovelled mine down so that I was finished as he just about left the room.
"Thanks Coran."
"Good luck Keith!" He chirped back. I blushed.
"It's NOT LIKE THAT!" I shouted back as I sprinted through the door and away from the crazy shippers. Jesus.
I could see Lance walk towards his room, with something in his hand. He shook a little before breaking into a full sprint. Did he notice?
I ran straight after him as quietly as possible, matching my footsteps with his.
Within seconds he was inside his room, and I could hear retching. I thought he had a good appetite? Is he ill? Should I go in and help?
After that, I could hear nothing but little shuffles. Until I heard a clanking metal sound. What in space was he doing in there?
I heard the noise of the bayard and the sound of the gun charging.
OH HELL NO!
I opened the door to find his bayard aimed towards his head.
"NO!"
I jumped on him just as the blast went off. The energy beam just skimmed my right arm. With my damaged arm, I whacked his bayard out of his hand before collapsing on him. I placed one hand under his head, and the other around his back, embracing him.
"Why. I just want it to stop." He whispered, eyes full of tears. "I don't want to be a Galra. How will I ever see my family again?"
"Lance you have to stay strong. We've gotten so far. We're closer to coming home, closer than we've ever been so far. We just gotta hang in there." I cooed. "And don't worry, we'll figure out something for your appearance, even if it's the last thing I do."
He began to sob gently, and I held him close, letting him break down. He hasn't had anyone to lend him his shoulder for a very long time. I owe him at least that much.
Lance, please don't leave me - I think I love you.
"W-what?" He gasped out.
Did I say that out loud?
"I-I feel the same, he breathed out, still shuddering from the adrenaline.
He needed me to be sure. What he needed right now was someone to lean on. And that will be me. "Do you-"
"Yes Lance. I mean what I said. I'm falling for you." I stated with a steady voice.
His arms enveloped my back, and he held me tight. I pulled him closer, tightening my grip on him.
"Thank you, for being here for me, and for loving me." He cried out.
"Thank you, for being who you are." I replied.
We stayed like that together for a couple of minutes.
"So...what does that make us?" Lance asked. He seemed to be calmer than before.
"Boyfriends?" I said, though it sounded unsure.
"Yeah, I'd like that." He said with a chuckle.
"Then, that's settled." I sat up, wincing from the pain.
"Oh my god Keith! You're bleeding. I'm so sorry." He cried out. "I'm taking you to the healing pod." He lifted me in his strong galra arms and ran straight there.
He helped me get dressed into the suit and he gently set me into the pod.
"Hey Lance?" He hummed in reply.
"Go see Coran again. I felt your arms earlier." His face immediately darkened. "No matter how many times you lapse like this Lance, I - no - we will always help you back out of it. All you have to do is ask, okay?"
He stayed silent for a couple of moments before agreeing and mumbling an apology.
"Don't be sorry." I said "Just get some help okay?" I smiled.
"Alright, See you tomorrow."
The pod created the glass again and I was placed into a slumber.
