    Luka's POV:

I met a cute girl by accident a few days ago. I am glad we met. She seems nice, and her name is Marinette. Wow, what an amazing girl. I saw her again on purpose today. I went to her house and asked her out. She said yes, so I look forward to our date this Saturday. I am taking her to my father, famous rock n roll legend, Jagged Stone, concert and out to supper before it. I hope she will not be too disappointed about our seats. Sure, I have tickets, but they are for backstage passes. This way she can meet my father, Oh, I hope it will not be too awkward for her. I want to make a good impression.

I have not told her yet about my ex-fiance, the one who stood me up at the altar to run off to Los Vegas to work in some casino. Imagine me being the one dumped for such a ridiculous reason. I had my doubts that she had told me the truth. Why should she? She had not told me the truth about anything. I found out later she had lied about her name and everything else. I would not be surprised if she wasn't even from Poland like she had claimed.

Anyway, enough about my ex. I  much rather think about the dream girl  I have a date with. Should I tell Juleka? I know how much she has been trying to get me to date. No, I better keep this to myself for now. Otherwise, there is no telling how many questions she will ask me.  I hope the whole thing goes well. I am a bit nervous. What if she dislikes my tie?   Or what if she decides to skip town?  I shook my head, I was second-guessing her too much, Marinette is nothing like Marissa Nicole Hinders.

         Time skip!

It was the day before my big date, so I went to see Marinette again. I knew it was probably too soon, but I could not help it. I just had to see her. I knocked but got no answer. I walked around to the back and saw her on the porch, playing the violin. I did not know she played any instruments. I waved at her. She smiled but kept right on playing.   I noticed a small child, holding a violin. It was then, that I realized she was teaching a lesson.

I did not say a word, I took a picture. The little girl, noticed though, "Miss Marinette, that boy over there took a picture of you, is your boyfriend?" she asked.  Marinette smiled, "No, we only met a few days ago, his name is Luka. He is just a friend," Marinette said.  I did not bother to correct her, but I wished she was my girlfriend.  "He seems to like you," the child spoke up. "Maria, why don't you try playing the piece I just demonstrated for you," Marinette remarked. "Yes, Miss Marinette." The girl, Maria played the piece beautifully.

"I did not know you taught violin lessons," I said. "It is alright not many people do. I teach on Tuesdays most of the time, but this week, Maria was sick on Tuesday but she is better now." Marinette explained.  "The other children still had their lessons on Tuesday."

"Bravo that is great!" Marinette complemented Maria. I clapped for her. A horn blew, and Maria put her violin inside its case. Then, she hugged Marinette. "My mom is here. I will see you next week, Miss Marinette, and you too, Mr. Luka!" She exclaimed. Then, she picked up the instrument case and left in a blue van.

"Are all your students as enthusiastic as Maria?" I asked. "Yes, well, she is one of my older students," Marinette explained. She put her violin away and headed inside. "Oh, do come in for some refreshments."

I did as Marinette said. It was a good excuse to spend more time with her; before tomorrow night. "What made you drop by?  I was expecting you until tomorrow evening, Mr. Luka," Marinette teased me. "Well, Miss Marinette, you are a kind and pretty person. Besides, how else will I get to know you better."  She smiled. She set some cookies, milk, and carrot sticks out. Then, she started looking inside the fridge for something. "Now, where did I put that bottle of Ranch dressing? Oh, here it is," she said. She came back holding the Ranch.

"I did know you liked Ranch with your carrots too," I said. "You like them that way?" She looked surprised. "Sure, but I thought I was only one," I remarked. Marinette sat beside me.

The two of us enjoyed the snacks and milk. Then, she cleaned up and went upstairs. I followed her. She began to sew something. I blushed. "It is a dress for Juleka's birthday, but I already finished the one for Saturday," she said. "What?  How did you manage that we only agreed to that yesterday." I responded.  "Well, I was making one to wear to the party but figured I could wear it on Saturday too," she explained.

I watched her sew the trim around the edges of the sleeves. I noticed it was black and purple, Juleka's favorite colors.  Marinette was a woman of many talents, she cooked, taught violin lessons, and sewed. What else could she do?

"What color is your dress?" I asked. "I am not telling, this way it can be a surprise." She said. "Okay, well I look forward to seeing you wear it then," I said.  She blushed. So she does like me I thought.  "Oh, did you decide where we will eat supper?" she asked. "Yes, at the new restaurant the Mexican one," said. "Sounds nice, I do like tacos," she told me.

"What about you?"  "I like Buritos, fajitas, and tacos."   "Well, when I finish this, would you like to stay for tonight?"  "For a sleepover?" I asked rather confused. "No, for supper," She said. "Sure, if you think you will have enough," I said. "Sure, I always fix more than enough. I do live alone," She added.

"Well, what are you having?" I asked. "How does spaghetti, garlic bread, and a salad sound?" she asked.  "It all sounds great." "Glad, you like it 'cause that is what I am fixing, oh, and for dessert, I thought about making a cheesecake."

I  felt my jaw drop in amazement. She invited me to share one of my favorite dishes and desserts.  I might marry her someday, I thought.

The meal was delicious as was the dessert, but the company was better. I had not had a home-cooked meal in a long time. I had a feeling, she would be shocked if I admitted that I mostly ate microwave popcorn, microwavable meals, cereal, store-bought muffins, and chips.  I helped her clear the table and with the dishes.

"See you tomorrow night, Luka," She said. I smiled, "Yes see you then, Marinette."

Marinette waved by to me as I headed out the door. Boy, I could not wait to see her again soon.
