    Description:

Marinette went where he said he would meet her, but he never showed up. She should have known better. She could not believe she had fallen for his lies again. Well, she had learned her lesson not to trust Felix ever again.

  Marinette's POV:

"I know it has been two years, but I am done with blind dates," I scoffed. "Marinette you have not even met the guy," Juleka protested. "I don't care to meet him either," I said. "He is nice, he plays the guitar, and I am sure you two would hit it off nicely. Besides, he is my twin brother," Juleka stated.  "I don't care if he is the son of the president of the United States, I am still not interested in meeting him, and that is final," I told her.

I could tell Juleka was disappointed. She had told me the sad story about how Luka had dated a girl for three years and proposed, only to have her dump him at the altar. As much as I felt sorry for him, I had no desire to date anyone. I was done with the dating scene, and that was all there was to it.

l was good at sewing, cooking, and playing the violin. I had taken lessons for six years before quitting when I could no longer afford them. I had helped a few kids with their violin playing some in the past along with assisting some with learning how to sew.

         Time skip!

Two days later, I returned home with sewing supplies, and ingredients for supper when I almost slipped in a mud puddle. A cute boy caught me in his arms, and I was so surprised I found I could not speak. He smiled at me. I smiled at him. Finally, I found my tongue, "Th-Thanks, " I stuttered. I felt so embarrassed about the entire thing. "He only smiled at me. See you around, Miss," he said. Then, he left on his bike.  Hmm, Who was that? I thought I knew everyone in town, but did not remember meeting him.

The next day, as I was finishing up mending a pair of pants for Adrien Agreste the married carpenter in town whose wife was expecting a baby, I heard a knock at the door. Who could that be? I opened it to see the same pair of turquoise-eyed, green-haired boy smiling at me from the previous day. "Hi, Miss, I see you are no worse for wear," he said. "Hi, yourself, I am Marinette," I said. He grinned, "Marinette, nice to meet you, I am Luka Cuffaine, Juleka's brother." I admit I was surprised when he introduced himself.  Luka, this was the brother, Juleka was telling me about, she had told me he was good-looking.

"It is a pleasure to me your acquaintance, Marinette." "It was nice to meet you too, Luka," I said.  I invited him inside for some tea.  We enjoyed some tea and crescents with cream cheese on them. I  had not enjoyed the company of a man in years. I did not tell him this. I did not want to make things awkward between us.

"Are you busy this weekend? I wanted to take someone with me to accompany me to my dad's latest concert," he said. "  "Your dad is a musician," I remarked. "Yes, he is, he is famous too, perhaps you have heard of him, Jagged Stone." He stated. "Jagged Stone, wow, he is my favorite music artist," I explained.  I agreed to go with him to see the recent concert. He was pleased.  He told me that the concert started at eight o'clock on Saturday night, but he would come by to get me at six. This way we could get supper, and have the best seats in the house at the concert.
