PART THREE
Seventh Year——————————————————————
" y/n's point of view "

AS WE HEADED through King's Cross Station to get to Platform 9 and 3/4, there was a dog bark from behind me. I looked down to see a black dog running past my feet and towards Harry, who wasn't expelled from Hogwarts.
"Padfoot, are you barking mad?" Mad-Eye hissed at the dog as it ran past. "You'll blow the entire operation."
As if he blended in with all the muggles.
Harry ran into the waiting room Padfoot had while the rest of us waited outside as they talked.
Over the last few weeks with Harry at Grimmauld Place with us, it was a little different to the rest of the summer before hand. More of my dad's time was focused on Harry.
But I guess it made sense. Harry needed it.
When Harry came out I went into the room.
"Dad, you know you shouldn't be here." I told him. He shrugged.
"Harry said almost the same thing." Then he waved me over with open arms for a hug. "I'll see you at Christmas."
That brought a smile to my face. I hadn't had a real Christmas with my dad since I could remember.
"Okay, see you then." I pulled back and he winked before I left the room.

ON THE TRAIN, Fred, George and I met up with Lee and Lewis.
"Good summers, then?" Lee asked us when we sat down in their compartment. "Too good to spare a moment to send an owl, hey?"
"Oh, come off it, mate." George sighed and Lee's eyes narrowed. "We weren't allowed to send any."
"Not allowed. Sure." Lee scoffed.
"We aren't kidding." George insisted.
"Where'd you spend the summer?" Lewis asked curiously.
"Y/N's place." Fred replied. "It's a long story, alright?"
"It's a long train ride." Lee said back.
Fred and George turned to look at me, and I shrugged. Then they looked back at Lee and Lewis.
"Okay, fine." George cleared his throat and the two began to tell their story of our not really eventful summer.
I didn't realize how in depth the boys were going until their story finished and the train stopped 4 minutes later.
"You can't tell anyone, okay?" I told Lee and Lewis. "Not about the Order."
They both nodded and we started collecting our things from the compartment.
We headed out to the carriages and both Lee and Lewis told us about their separate summers, Lee mentioning Oliver maybe 12 times.
Lewis told us about his family going to visit his sister again, and how he had to go to a dentist, whose last name was Granger.
"At one point he mentioned he had a 15-year-old daughter, so I asked him what her name was." Lewis explained as our carriage came to a stop. "He said Hermione and I said that I go to school with her. He was like 'I don't think you do. She goes to a special school in Scotland.' And I said I do too."
"So you met Hermione's dad?" I asked and Lewis nodded.
"Yeah."
When we all finally sat down in the great hall we still had to sit through the entire sorting ceremony before we could eat.
But once the food eventually came out, both Fred and George were grabbing at it immediately.
I was sat between Fred and another kid, Lee and Lewis sitting on the other side facing us.
The food was great as always, but not too long into the feast Dumbledore started to speak.
"Good evening, Children." His voice left a booming echo throughout the hall. We all turned forward to look at our Headmaster. "Now, we have two changes in staffing this year. We're pleased to welcome back Professor Grubbly-Plank who will be taking care of Magical Creatures while Professor Hagrid is on temporary leave."
I turned back to look at Harry, Ron and Hermione, then back to Dumbledore.
"We also wish to welcome our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Delores Umbridge." That's when I noticed the woman seated beside Snape, dressed in bright pink clothing and a ridiculous hat. "And I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing the professor good luck. As usual, our caretaker, Mr. Filch has asked me to..."
Professor Umbridge cleared her throat, rather high-pitched, as she stood up with her pink handbag.
Dumbledore stared at her, looking taken aback. Then Professor Umbridge very slowly made her way to the front.
"Thank you, headmaster, for those kind words of welcome." She said as she approached Dumbledore's podium. "And how lovely to see all your bright, happy faces smiling up at me."
I had a feeling not a single person in this hall was smiling. The people around me definitely weren't.
"I'm sure we're all going to be very good friends."
"That's likely." Both Fred and George said, resting their chins on their hands and the woman stared them down for a moment.
"The Ministry of Magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizards to be of vital importance." She went on. "Although each headmaster has brought something new to this historic school.. progress for the sake of progress must be discouraged. Let us preserve what must be preserved, perfect what can be perfected, and prune practices that ought to be prohibited."
Then she giggled a little and headed back to her seat.
"What the hell?" I mumbled and Fred gave me a funny look as Dumbledore made us all awkwardly applaud.
"Thank you, Professor Umbridge. That really was most illuminating. Now, as I was saying..." Dumbledore cleared his throat. "Our caretaker, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you that magic is forbidden in the corridors."
I leaned my head to the side and rested it on Fred's shoulder.
This year wasn't going to be any better than the last few. Just seeing Professor Umbridge and her speech was enough to give me an uncomfortable feeling brewing in my stomach. This year was going to be the worst one yet.
