I FELT MYSELF flying through the air as smoke, dust and rubble filled it. My wand was still in my hand, though my grip loose, and I had no time to cast a spell that would cushion the fall. So I held my arms in front of my face as I landed on the hard stone ground with a thud.

My ears were ringing from the explosion and I could feel blood dripping down the side of my face from when I had landed. My eyes struggled to focus as I sat up, pain searing through my body, especially my head and wrist.

As I got a look of the wall, I noticed the entire side of the castle had been blast open, coating half the corridor in large stone chunks, the cold night air blowing in at full force.

Harry, who had landed beside me, had a large bloody gash on his cheek as we both struggled to our feet, taking in our surroundings.

Then there was a yell, an agonising scream of pain.

Hermione was in the wreckage, pulling herself up shakily, and I turned away from her to the three redheaded brothers off to my side. One of them was screaming, the ringing in my ears wasn't doing me any favours in telling me who.

As I grew closer, I realised Percy and Ron were leaning over Fred, who was lying in the rubble.

Never had my heart dropped faster than it did in that moment.

Though, when I realised Fred was the one who was screaming, I was glad to know it meant he was alive.

He was still screaming in pain, however, and I slid to the ground beside his brothers.

"What's going on!?" I asked in a panic.

"His leg..." Ron said, his face queasy.

Fred's left leg had clearly been caught in the wreckage, because it was twisted extremely out of place, the bone had probably been shattered into pieces.

He also had a large cut on the back of his head, which was bleeding heavily.

"Get down!" Harry yelled and we all ducked as curses started flying through the hole in the wall, brightly coloured blasts of light that broke the darkness from outside. The spells hit the walls behinds us, but we knew soon one was bound to hit us.

"Come on, Fred, we gotta get you up." I said, looping his arm over my shoulder. "Percy, you gotta get up we need to move."

Percy had been almost on top of Fred, a look of both worry, shock and regret lacing his features, a layer of dust coating his face and now cracked horn-rimmed glasses.

"We need to move." Harry said and Percy moved around to help pull Fred to his feet.

My husband screamed out in pain again as we got up, and warm tears started pricking in my eyes.
