ON THE 1ST of September, 2015, I woke up with a sigh. I knew I had to get up, but I didn't want to. But that was what it was like most mornings.

I forced myself to sit up and to start getting ready for the day, for Teddy's sake.

Today was the beginning of his last year at Hogwarts, and I couldn't miss that, as much as I hated going to Platform 9 and 3/4 because it meant I had to see everyone.

After the Battle of Hogwarts, I disappeared.

Well, I couldn't entirely, but the best I could.

I moved out of the flat where I had lived with the twins and I had moved in with Andromeda to help her raise Teddy. I still had a life, going back to working at St. Mungos, I just put all my energy into work rather than my social life.

I got owls from my friends, but I rarely replied. I just couldn't bare to move on, still mourning what could've been.

The last time I had actually gone out when they had invited me was Lee and Oliver's wedding, where I spent the whole night avoiding looking at George's face.

I only ever really saw Harry and Ginny at dinners with Teddy, everyone else was only if I bumped into them in Diagon Alley or around London.

It had been 17 whole years, and I felt pathetic and weak for not getting over it and moving on, but I felt like it was too late now.

I wasn't 20 anymore, I was 37. I was a widow before I had even turned 21 and now, even if I wanted to, there was no chance of me starting over.

I didn't want to remarry, and there was no chance of me ever having my own children. The Black family name dying with my father. Teddy was all I had.

After I had showered and dressed for the day, I stared into the bathroom mirror at the chain around my neck. It had once held just a single Quaffle charm, but it was now joined by a Bludger and a wedding band. Fred's ring.

I tapped the button on the Quaffle charm once, like I did each day, just to hear his voice come through on the other end from the last message he had sent me years ago.

"I love you."

"Y/N, hurry up, I need to pee!" A voice rang through the bathroom door and I rolled my eyes. I opened the bathroom door and came face-to-face with Teddy, who was the spitting image of his father with his mother's brightly coloured hair.

"Use your manners, Teddy, you're an adult."

"Please." He pleaded and I chuckled as he pushed his way into the bathroom.

I headed downstairs, where Andromeda was serving breakfast at the table.

"Are you sure you're okay to take him to the station, today?" Andromeda asked me and I nodded.
