Emi's pov

We were still in the village of demon slayers, with so much death here, it was starting to make me feel uncomfortable. The thought of the vast amount of souls that must be residing here is greatly unsettling. Kagome seemed just as upset as I was, I couldn't bear to see all these graves. These people must have had families and now, now all of them were gone and it just didn't seem fair. "Emi, are you alright?" Miroku spoke softly, I was staring at the destruction around us. "No... This place reeks of death. So many people died and it pisses me off. If we had any knowledge of this beforehand, we could have stopped this." I said, "We don't know that, Emi. We had no idea the village was even being targeted by demons." Miroku placed a hand on my shoulder, "It's not fair... None of them deserved any of this. Is this common?" I looked back at him, "Sadly, it can be. But something tells me that this particular kind of attack wasn't done out of spite." He frowned, "You think someone might be behind this?" I questioned, "It's a possibility. It's not common for a large horde of demons to attack an entire village without some kind of reason." He explained, "Hey, you two!" We looked to our right to see Inuyasha, he had a cart in his hands. "Come on," We were heading for a cave where the Shikon Jewel was supposedly created, and Inuyasha was pulling a cart with him. "The cave where the Sacred Jewel was created?" I asked, "Yes. We are headed now to the outskirts of the village to the limestone cave." Myoga explained, "Actually, this village served as a sort of factory." Myoga stated, "Factory?" Kagome asked, looking confused. "They made weapons and armor from the skins and bones of the demons that were slain," Myoga said, as we reached the cave that Myoga was talking about. Inuyasha throws the gunnysacks on the cart into the cave, "And unused portions were disposed of in this cave. Hence, this limestone cave is filled with the remains of demons. And it seems that deep inside the cave was once full of carcasses of demons." I wasn't too surprised by the story, but what was interesting was the idea that the Shikon Jewel had been created in this cave.

"That's where the Sacred Jewel was...?" Kagome looked over at Myoga.

"Yes...that is the story that has been passed down in this region." He nodded.

"Good work, Myoga." Inuyasha praised, "Thank you for the compliment! I did my best in the hope that it would be of help to you." Myoga said dramatically, making me chuckle lightly. "Really? When you stay by me, you're always in danger, so I thought you just ran away." Inuyasha shot back, "Master Inuyasha, how could you think that?!" Myoga jumped down from Inuyasha's shoulder, making me laugh at the dramatics. "Sorry about that," Inuyasha said, not seeming sincere with his apology. "Shall we go in?" Miroku asked, my ears twitched as I picked up a low hum coming from the entrance of the cave. "All right...let's go." Inuyasha walked towards the cave, "Just a minute, Master Inuyasha!" Myoga called, I figured he was trying to warn him about something but knowing Inuyasha, he definitely wasn't going to listen. "What is it?!" He sounded annoyed, a barrier suddenly appeared at the entrance. As soon as Inuyasha touches the barrier, he is shocked as he tries to walk in. I grimaced as he yelled in pain, he was thrown back and hit the ground with a loud thud. "A strong barrier has been placed at the entrance and one cannot just walk in." Myoga stated, "Then say so earlier!" I chuckled at Inuyasha's reaction, crossing my arms as I looked at the barrier. Several minutes later, we were stuck watching Inuyasha attack the barrier,  but he was thrown back and failed miserably at breaking through it. "How long is he going to keep that up?" I tilted my head, watching Inuyasha hit the ground for a third time. "I don't know," Shippo shook his head, "Inuyasha!" Kagome shouted, sounding concerned.

"Damn!"

"It's hopeless." Shippo said, "I agree with Shippo. Obviously, you're not going to be able to break that barrier. There's no point in trying anymore." I spoke up. "There's no way into the cave and everyone who could've talked to us has been killed." Inuyasha sighed, "Not everyone." Miroku stated, making all of us look at him. "What?" Inuyasha quirked an eyebrow at him, "The more skilled Slayers went to some castle." Miroku reminded us, "That's right! If those men had been in the village, they would easily have turned back an attack by the demons." Myoga pointed out, "Then, we should head there." I said, shifting the bag on my back. "All right... Let's go to that castle and talk to the men about the Sacred Jewel and find out how to get into that cave...easy! Now then, let's get started." We started to head off towards the castle, hopefully, we could get some answers while we were there. I heard movement stop behind me where Kagome had been when I looked back, I noticed that she was still looking at the cave. I shrugged and continued walking, figuring that she was going to catch up to us. It seemed I wasn't the only one who noticed her stop following us, "Hurry, Kagome! Or we'll leave you!" Inuyasha shouted. "Wait!" Kagome shouted, running to catch up with us. "Kagome, what were you staring at back there?" I quipped, "I felt something was different about the cave. it could just be because of the story." Kagome explained, walking beside me. "Myoga, is the castle this way?" Inuyasha quipped, "Hmmm? Master Inuyasha, were you walking without knowing which way to go?" He asked, "Huh?! Err... You didn't say a word, so I figured I was going the right way!" Inuyasha yelled, I shook my head at the two of them.

"Inuyasha, you idiot! Why would lead the group if you had no clue where you were even going?"

"Inuyasha, the castle shouldn't be too far. Can't you sniff it out from here?" Miroku asked.

"Uh-huh... I can't get a whiff of anything here." Inuyasha replied, shaking his head. "What about you, Emi? Can you smell anything?" Inuyasha looked at me, I took a moment to sniff the air catching onto an unfamiliar scent and my ears twitched. "Emi?" Miroku tilted his head, "Huh?" Kirara who was currently in Kagome's arms, suddenly meows as her ears twitch. I looked at her, knowing that she sensed something. "What's the matter?" I heard a whooshing sound coming toward us and suddenly a boomerang appeared flying in our direction, cutting the trees in its path. Inuyasha grabbed Kagome as I grabbed onto Miroku, all of us dodging the boomerang. "What the hell was that?" Inuyasha asked, I lifted my head to watch the boomerang return to a female figure standing a distance away from us. I couldn't see her face because she was wearing a mask, "You are Inuyasha? I will slay you!" She shouted, making all of us confused as we got onto our feet.

"Just who are you?!" Inuyasha yelled.

"Sango!" Myoga called.

"Someone from the village?" Kagome questioned, "She must be one of the demon slayers that went to the castle... But what I don't understand is why she's coming after Inuyasha when she doesn't know him. He hasn't done anything to be targeted." I spoke up, "Master Inuyasha... You must not cross swords with Sango!" Myoga warned, "Hiraikotsu!" Sango threw her boomerang at Inuyasha, causing me to panic. "This ain't the time to say that!" He unsheathed Tetsusaiga and blocked Hiraikotsu, sliding backward from the impact. "Tetsusaiga is losing!" Miroku exclaimed, "Inuyasha..." Sango grabbed Hiraikotsu, who returned to her. "Hey! What's your deal? Why are you coming after me?!" Inuyasha questioned, "Silence, half-demon! I will avenge everyone from my village!" She threw Hiraikotsu at Inuyasha again, but he dodged it causing the boomerang to hit the ground, shattering it into pieces.

"Old Myoga! What's she saying?!" Inuyasha asked.

"I have no idea! Master Inuyasha, it's coming again!" Inuyasha is hit with Hiraikotsu, "We must do something about that weapon!" Kagome yelled, "Agreed!" I pulled Kagome behind me, Shippo latching onto my shoulder as Miroku opened his wind tunnel. "Wind Tunnel!" Hiraikotsu slows down, "Got it!" My ears twitched as I sensed a familiar presence heading towards us, suddenly a drove of the same poison insects Naraku used appeared and flew towards Miroku. "Look! Naraku's poison insects!" Kagome pointed out, I growled as I unsheathed the sword on my hip. I wish I had a cool sword like Inuyasha, maybe I can get one someday. "Shit, this is not good. Naraku can't be far behind." I said, looking up at the insects.
