"Chloe I want you to tell me something!" Paige exclaims jumping on my bed.

I sit up, "What is it?"

"When do you leave?"

My heart stops.

Why would she ask that?

"Why do you want to know?" I ask.

"Because I don't want you to just be gone one day."

"Why would you think that?"

She sits down and stares in my eyes.

"I have only known you for about a month but you're the only person I have become closest to. I feel like I can tell you anything. I don't feel the same with Mikey. I mean I love him to death but you make me feel like everything will be ok."

"Come here." I whisper.

I scoot closer to Paige and embrace her in a hug.

"I love you so much Paige. And whenever I move back, you will be the first person I tell."

"Even Josh?"

I laugh, "Even Josh. Nothing can break this friendship."

"I love you too Chlo."

We both release from the hug and I hear my dad pull in.

"Here comes trouble." I whisper.

"What?" Paige asks.

"He doesn't know you are here. Let's see how this goes."

I get up from my bed and walk downstairs. Paige following close behind.

"Dad!" I yell.

"Down here Chloe."

I walk down by the garage and see my dad carrying grocery bags. I stop Paige with my hand.

"Um how would you feel if I ever brought over a friend without asking you?"

"Well that depends on the friend."

I bite my lip, he has to know Paige.

"You brought one over didn't you?" My dad asks.

I reach behind my back and grab Paige, pulling her in front of me.

"Oh hi Paige!"

"Hi mr Lukasiak."

"Chloe, Paige is fine." My dad admits.

I let out a long breath.

"Let's go back upstairs." I tell Paige.

She nods.

"Oh Chloe!! I'm leaving early in the morning to get a case done!" My dad yells.

"Figures." I whisper.

Once Paige and I get back up to my room I flop on my bed.

My phone starts going off.

I look over and realize it's Josh.

"Hello?"

"Hey beautiful."

"I'm sorry but who is this?" I laugh.

"Just someone who is madly in love with you."

"Oh the only person I know of who is madly in love with me is my boyfriend. But from the time right now-" I look over at the clock. Midnight. "He should be sleeping."

"Hi Chloe."

"Hi Josh."

"I didn't say goodnight so I felt like it would be the right time now."

I laugh, "What if I was asleep?"

"Oh c'mon I know you wouldn't be sleeping if Paige was over."

"True. Do you want to come over and have breakfast with us tomorrow? My dad is leaving early." I ask.

He sighs, "I have to work remember?"

"Right. You have to work." I repeat.

"I'm sorry Chlo. I wish I could."

"Don't worry about it. You are taking care of your family."

"That means I will have more time later. So then we could hang out."

"I'll take up that offer Hyland."

"Good." He laughs.

"Now get some sleep babe. You got a busy day saving lives tomorrow."

"Ok. I love you blondie."

"I love you too."

And then the line went silent////end of chapter 25

Hey hey! Guess what! MY PHONE IS FIXED!!!!! So now I can see what I am typing!! Yay!!!!!
