"I'm so sick of that same old love!" I sing while making pancakes.
My dad comes down and kisses my cheek.
"You are happy this morning."
I laugh, "I'm going to call mom today and talk to her about staying."
He smiles, "That's good."

"Hey mom!"
"Hey sweetie. What's up?"
"So dad and I were wondering, if it's ok with you. If I could spend this next school year in California? I know it's a lot but I feel so mic better in this town and I feel like I would have such a better senior year here!"
She sighs, "But sweetie remember we talked about this. Staying 4 years at your school. So it would look good on your record. And it would be so hard to catch up!"
"But mom I would still do amazing! And they teach the same stuff! Please mom. I was already thinking of going to college here. Please just let me."
"Honey I don't know! It's such a big step for you and I don't know if you can handle it-"
I interrupt her, "I can."
"I don't think this will work out."
"Mom please I can do this! Please just let me be an adult!"
"You know I can't say yes."
A tear falls down my cheek, "I understand."
"You still have a month."
"I'll be ready in a month." I say then hang up.
I sit against my bedroom wall and let the tears fall down my cheek.
I'm going to lose everyone.
Josh will forget about me.
Paige will find better friends.
My dad will not talk to me.
Max will remember what I've done.
How can I go back?
I look outside and see everyone playing a game of volleyball.
I told them I had to talk to my mom and wouldn't be able to play.
They all are so happy being in their home.
This isn't my home though.
It's there's. And I should be home. I should be home where I belong.
With my friends. My mom, my school.
I don't bother texting Josh. I just left it. Have him figure it out himself.
