Chapter 5

**Avery POV**

Right from the start

You were a thief

You stole my heart

And I your willing victim

I let you see the parts of me

That weren't all that pretty

And with every touch you fixed them

"Thats really good," I heard someones voice behind me. It was Connor 

"I told you she could sing," I then heard Raynah, "they finally have a table ready for us."

"I wasn't singing in my head i guess?" I questioned towards Connor

"No but your amazing you should sing out loud in public, in front of a whole bunch of people."

"Are you kidding I only did that for my friends birthday like two weeks ago, I threw up a little after the first versus and then total threw up after I was done singing."

"Oh sorry about saying that you should sing in front of people."

"No its fine."

"So Avery why dont you tell these guys a little about yourself or shall I?" I turned around to see Britt

"Um how do you know anything about me?"

"Awww shes so cute and so stupid. Sweet your old schools have to send your information to the school."

"So how did you get?"

"My daddy owns the school. DUH."

"Oh so thats how you got into the school." I heard Raynah and we all giggled except Britt.

"Um where should I start? How about your parents, or is that gonna be to much?"

**Connor POV**

I knew something was wrong when Britt brought up Avery's parents. She looked like she was gonna cry. What's wrong? I thought to myself then Britt continued.

"Lets see um... lost her father to cancer at the age of 2, taken away from her mother at the age of 4 due to child abuse charges. Then brought to live with her aunt and uncle who didnt give two shits about her. Lets see what's next?" I saw a tear run down Avery's face but she couldn't go anywhere Britt had her cornered. 

"Britt stop." I saw Avery look at me you could tell she was crying a little due to the black lines of makeup on her face. But Britt continued her rampage anyway

"Lets look at your medical record now. 5 months premature. ADHD, a rare heart disease, cystic fibrosis, asthma....next topic shall we"

"Britt that enough stop." I swear I was gonna lose it if she didnt leave Avery alone.

"Ummm... lets see this is what people have told me about you.... had at least 9 boyrfiends, about one per year since 4th grade. People once thought you were pregnant. Lost her virginity at 12. Has the biggest crush on Connor Fran... you bitch, I swear if you don't back off my man I will kill you."

"BRITT GET OUT OF HERE NOW AND NEVER TALK TO AVERY LIKE THAT AGAIN." I knew i was gonna lose it on her 

"Aww so cute how you stick up for her after I told you all that stuff. I mean come on Connor cut the act."

"BRITT THIS ISNT AN ACT, IT ISNT FUNNY, I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING YOU JUST TOLD ME I DON'T CARE THE ONLY THING I CARE ABOUT IS AVERY."

"Ohh Connor calm down baby."

"DON'T YOU DARE EVERY CALL ME THAT AGAIN. I SWEAR IF YOU DON'T LEAVE IM GOING TO HURT YOU." I could tell that I was definitly screaming now because everyone was staring at me. 

"Connor calm down please." Raynah was pushing me down back into my seat. As soon as I sat down the manager had come over and told Britt to leave. As soon as she walked away I went over to Avery who's face was covered by her hands so no one could see her crying. 

"Avery please look at me, please." I couldn't stand to see her like this. 

"You didnt have to do that," she said through her tears.

"Avery dont say that. And don't let them get to you."

"The reason I came early was to get away from my old life. I can't do this right now I just wanna leave."

"I can take you home."

"No its fine I can drive. Can you drive Raynah, I want her to stay and have fun, don't let me ruin your night."

"No Avery i go with you," Raynah added 

"NO I WANT YOU TO STAY," she somewhat screaamed in a strict voice full of tears. She got up.

"Can I at least walk you to your car?" she nodded just as the waiter came with the check, Zack paid it and they ran after us. As soon as I knew it we were at her car and she was fighting with her keys. I grabbed her hand and she gave me a look for me to let go of her, but i didnt. Instead of letting go I pulled her into my and began to kiss her. At first she was fighting me to stop but I didnt want her to leave. When we broke from the kiss she was still upset she never wanted me to know about her life, but now I do but it doesnt phase me I still like her, no I think I love her. 

"Can I please leave now." I went to let go but I pulled her in again but this time I needed her ear. I brought her ear closer and me and wisphered to her.

"Please Avery don't do anything you will regret." She nodded and i let go of her and like that she was gone.

"Ummmm this might be a bad time, but can I have a ride back you can come in when you drop me off and make sure she's ok" I nodded and we got in my car and drove back to the dorm.
