Chapter 16

**Sophia POV**

I'm about to lose my mind

You've been gone for so long, I'm running out of time

I need a doctor, call me a doctor

I need a doctor, doctor to bring me back to life

My 'family' was falling apart around me. We have been waiting in the hospital for about three hours and we still haven't been told anything. They families all gather around the reception desk. It doesn't feel right. I wish my real family would be like that, but a dream is a wish your heart makes. That doesn't mean they always come true. Their families told us we could go see them first. It was the first of what everyone wished would be one of many for them but as the looks on the doctors faces we could tell that this battle might be over soon. And no one is bringing home gold. Raynah and Avery gripped onto my hands. The doctor saw us and started to walk over. His face full of grief and sorrow. No this isn't right, why is it them not me. I'm pretty sure all of us were thinking that. I knew Avery was scared she was in the bathroom for over an hour crying. She's been through life worst than us. She can't take news like this. The last time she did, it was that her father--her best friend had died. The last time something like this happened to me was that my hamster died. Nothing compares to what she faced. These were my best friends since I came to this school and because of one idiot person they might be gone. The doctor finally reached us. 

"Are you the friends of the family?" The doctor asked you could tell he was crying. We all nodded we couldn't speak. If we did no words would come out just sobs. "I am very sorry." Oh no is could feel my face getting wet and I just couldn't take this. "The passenger side was hit too bad we couldn't do anything to help. He'll be in critical care for the next few weeks but--" he paused we all knew it had to do with her. The t.v. that was straight in front of me flashed.

Major accident on main highway. It then went to the news reporter to talk about it.

Goodmorning. There has been a major crash on the main highway near Saint John's University. A drunk driver crashed into a car leaving the two passengers inside spiraling out of control. We have just gotten word of the victims and are able to release their names and there current condition to you. The two victims were sophmores at Sainnt John's University. There names, Nicole Baker and Zackary Sanders. The drunk driver's name we are not able to release to you. But they are all at Memorial Hospital. The drunk driver left the crash with some cuts and brusies, as for the victums. Zackary Sanders is now in critical condition, and Nicole Baker is--. The pause that really did it I couldn't take it she was my best friend since birth and now who every did this should just die. Nicole Baker was pronounced dead last night at 11:50. Please keep the family and friends of these vitums in your prayers. Have a good day. How could they say have a good day after say that about Nicole.

"I you guys want to go say goodbye you can." Nicole's mom told us. We nodded and walked towards the room.

"Soph you ok?"

"She was my best friend since the day I was born. She was always there for me when I was scared and I was there for her when she was scared. She was like my twin. We wouldn't leave each others side. I can't do this."

"SOPHS WAKE UP." I heard that voice but it can't be. I opened my eyes.

"I thought you died?"

"Um no I am very much alive right here. OHHH you must of had a dream that I died."

"Umm yea. It was only a dream?"

"Yea why do you want me dead?"

"No but it felt so real."

"I know what happened in it?"

"You and Zack went on a date and then some drunk driver hit his car when you were driving back and you spun out of control." I was talking so fast I had to stop to breathe. "And you died and Zack was in critical condition."

"Umm Sophs."

"Yea?"

"That was the last thing on the news last night that you watched before you feel asleep."

"OHHHH yea now I remember never mind its all ok!" Wierdest dream.
