Jill's POV
I woke up. I woke up in a new bed, a new home, and in a new neighborhood. A new life here in North Carolina. I just miss the hot weather and the sand in my hair. I miss my mom. I sometimes think to myself. Why did my parents have to divorce? Why did my dad have to get a job in NC? It was hard enough making friends in Cali.
I get up off my bed and turn my alarm clock off. Start of a new day. Start of a new life. I get in the shower and wash my body and wash my hair. Let me tell you about myself.
My name is Jill. Jill Watts. I'm 15 years old. I have blonde wavy hair, hazel eyes, and I'm kind of short. I have an older sister. Her name is Rachel. She's 17 years old. She has long brown hair, green eyes, and is kind of tall but not really. My parents are divorced. I live with my dad and sister. My dad owns a company for a factory. I don't know much about it, just that he gets tons of money. I never cared about that. But, my dad did. My mom lives in California by herself and works as a nurse. I get good grades, that's a good thing. My dad has high expectations but he loves me. He just wants what's best. My goal in life is to just be happy. I'm not depressed or anything. I'm just stressed. I have a lot going on and I just want it to stop. So that's why my dad thought it was better moving to NC. Well, that's my story.
I blow dry my hair and do light make up, which consists of bronzer, mascara, and eos. I straighten my hair to perfection after that. I go into my closet and slip on a maroon cream sweater, jeans, a red scarf, and brown boots. I think I should dress nice for my new school and first day.
I go down stairs and I see my dad. I grab an apple and bite into it.
"You ready for the start of a new school?" My dad, Roger says.
"More than ready." I say, rolling my eyes and biting into another piece of my apple.
"This will be a good new start for us. For you and Rachel." My dad says.
"This really will only be a good start for you, dad." I say, rolling my eyes and throwing away my unfinished apple.
"You just gotta make the best of it." My dad says, patting my shoulder and grabbing his coffee and car keys. "I will get home late tonight so don't wait up for me. Go around and meet the neighbors or something."
"It's gonna be hard making friends, dad. It wasn't exactly simple in Cali."
"Just do well in school and everything will be okay." He says, shutting the door and leaving.
I huff loudly. I go on social media for awhile, till Rachel finally comes down stairs.
She's wearing converse, black skater skirt, and a white shirt tucked into her skirt. Her hair was straight and she did a little bit of make up.
"You ready?" She asks.
I nod as I grab my backpack and slip it on my shoulder. We get into her jeep and drive to the school.
"So, you ready for a brand new school?" Rachel says, smirking.
I roll my eyes. "What do you think?"
"I think you need a boyfriend." She says.
"I'm fine by being by myself. And what about you? I mean you are still mourning over Cam-"
"Don't speak of that name ever again." Rachel says, gripping the steering wheel tighter.
I hold up my hands in defense. "Sorry you caught him kissing another girl on your 2 years of being together."
She stops the car abruptly. "Do you wanna walk to school!?"
I shake my head no.
"That's what I fuxking thought." She says, continuing to drive.
