Jill's POV
(remember if it's in black, then it's a text message!)
Shawn ❤️: Yeah, I have work again tonight. 😁
Me: Awe, do you wanna hang out later after your shift?
Shawn ❤️: I'd love to. Will your dad mind though?
Me: Shawn, my dad loves you. Plus, he's gonna be at work. Like always...
Shawn ❤️: It's a date then(:
Me: Can't wait. And I gtg, Hayes and I are hanging out.
Shawn ❤️: Hayes... 😓 You know how I feel about that, Jill.
Me: Shawn, you don't control who I hang out with. Hayes and I are just friends. Why can't you see that?
Shawn ❤️: I don't like you hanging out with people you used to love, Jill.
Me: If you only trusted me.
"You ready?" Hayes asks me.
"Ready. Just give me a second." I say, holding up my pointer finger.
I put my phone in my pocket as I run up the stairs.
He nods. He was wearing a light blue shirt and black khakis. I went with just jean shorts and a lime green tank top.
I went to Rachel's room.
"You'll be okay by yourself, right?" I say.
"Y-Yeah. Umm, Nash might come over to talk later. I don't know if I wanna forgive him or not, Jill."
"You need to trust your heart, Rachel. If you are really bothered by him hanging out with his ex, then don't date him again. It's your choice." I say.
She takes a deep breathe and sighs. "Ok. We'll I'm gonna go now. Hayes is here."
"Ok, have fun. And thank you, Jill. For everything." She says.
I nod and smile as I head out the door with Hayes.
"I thought we could penny board there..? It's not that long away. Only like 10 minutes." He says.
"That sounds fun actually." I say, smiling.
"You look pretty." He says.
"Thank you. Even though I wasn't trying." I say, smiling.
He smiles back and I grab my penny board. We start to go down the street.
"So..." I say.
"I've missed you." He says.
"What do you mean? I've always been here. I haven't left." I say.
"No, I've missed how close we used to be. It's seems something is always pushing us apart, Jill. I miss you a lot." He says in a serious tone.
"I've missed you too." I say honestly.
Sure, I have a boyfriend and he has a girlfriend, but that should never pull friends apart. Never.
"So, I was wondering if you would go to the lake with my family and I next week...?" He says, scratching the back of his neck.
"Hayes, I would love to. But, that's a time to share with your girlfriend.. I don't want you to have to do that for me..." I say.
We continue to skate.
"No, please. I really want you to go. There will be other times with Rebecca. Just please come." He says, practically begging.
"Ok, then I'll go." I say, smiling.
