Jill's POV

Hayes of course kissed back for a second. A second. But then, he pushed Samantha back. But for that second they kissed, I was out the door. I was basically running to the lake. I reached the lake and I was wishing I brought my journal with me.

I walked along the lake as my tears fall. Why do all I always do this? I cry and cry till I no longer can. This all sounds like a dream, but if it's a dream, I wanna wake up from it.

I skip a few pebbles in the lake, thinking about everything. When I mean everything, I mean everything. Everything possible.

Future.

Family.

College.

School.

Everything.

It's been over an hour and I'm really surprised nobody has called to check and see how I've been. Wow.

I pull out my phone and I was wrong. 32 messages from Hayes, 13 from my dad, 8 from Nash, and 2 from Elizabeth.

Shit.

I run back to the lake house and walk into the front room. I'm glad my cheeks weren't stained from all the crying. Everybody was sprawled out in the front room, staring at me.

"Where were you?!" My dad says to me.

"Out." I say back.

Hayes looks at me with sympathy. I completely ignore it.

"You were out for a long time." My dad says back.

"Yeah because I needed to clear my mind from a few things." I say back, looking at Hayes.

"Well okay then. Just make sure you text me next time." My dad says to me.

I nod.

"We are getting ready to take our boat on the lake and go for a swim. Wanna go?" Elizabeth asks me.

"Of course. That is why we are here, right?" I say, chuckling.

"Yep," Hayes says, chiming in.

I ignore his response.

"I'll be going up to change." I say, walking upstairs.

I was all the way upstairs till a pair of arms dragged me into a room.

"Nash, what the heck?!" I say, whispering/yelling.

"What's going on, Jill? You are acting very strange." He says.

"A lot is on my mind." I say.

"Like what?" He asks me.

"Samantha kissed Hayes right in front of me." I say, sighing.

"I-I thought you didn't like him?" Nash asks me.

"Well you are wrong." I say, sighing.

I start pacing around the room.

"Why did Samantha kiss Hayes in the first place?" He asks me.

"Why did he invite her in the first place?" I ask him.

He sighs, "when you and him weren't talking, he invited her, thinking you weren't coming."

"Oh my god. Can we talk about this later? I need to get ready for the lake." I say.

"Yeah. I'm gonna call Rachel." He says, leaving the room.

I follow behind him and go into my room and slip on my light blue bikini and put on a crop top and jean shorts. I slip on my sunglasses and out my hair in a high pony tail.
