"The usual.." you say, forcing a smile.
"Hisoka thinks I'm going to throw a party and was very clear that he does not want to come." you say.
Chrollo's smile drops, his face shifting into confusion as he tilts his head to the side.
"You're throwing a party?" he asks and you have to laugh.
"No I'm not, I just asked him if he has plans for Halloween and he made the impossible connection that I wanted to throw a Halloween party." you explain, still laughing.
Chrollo's expression eases upon your explanation and his hands hold yours a little tighter.
You sigh, still amused, and free your hands from Chrollo's.
Just as you're about to take off your shoes and jacket, your phone buzzes.
You fish it out of your pocket and put it to the side, once your jacket hangs and your shoes are off, you take it and open the message you were sent.
It's your great uncles sister.
'Do you have time this Sunday? At noon perhaps?' the message reads.
You have so you agree to the meetup.
You're excited to meet her again, you haven't seen her since the funeral and she was so nice to you.
There's so much you can tell her, about the two boys for example or your plans for Halloween even though you're not too sure about those plans yet.
Killua and Gon had promised of coming by, you just hope they won't come all by themselves since the way to your house is long and surrounded by the forest.
Maybe this Leoreo guy they mentioned will accompany them.
You walk into the kitchen, Chrollo follows you, and put your phone back down on the counter.
You make yourself dinner while talking with Chrollo.
After that you eat while Chrollo sits with you at the table and waits for you to finish.
The first few times it felt weird to eat and have Chrollo watch or just sit with you, but you got used to it.
Once you're done eating you put your dishes in the sink.
You pick up your phone and want to check the time but the screen stays black.
You hold the power button for a few seconds, trying to turn it on, but only the logo appears before it all goes back to black.
That's strange.
With furrowed eyebrows you plug your phone into the nearest charger and hold the power button again.
This time your phone turns back on.
Empty.
It turned off by itself because it was empty.
You could've sworn you had more than 3/4 of your battery left though?
Maybe you just didn't look right?
It's probably that.
"Everything alright?" Chrollo asks, coming closer until he's standing right next to you.
He puts his hand on your back, his touch warm.
"Yeah, everything is alright." you say with a smile.
He nods with a smile as well.
You spent the rest of your evening with Chrollo, watching a old horror movie that is far from scary.
Once the movie is over you want to go to bed, cold air hits you as you open your bedroom door.
The window is closed though, the chilly air must've just been trapped in your room from when Chrollo opened the window earlier during the day.
You shower, get changed, and fall into bed.
You're asleep before Chrollo can say 'Good night' to you.
You get ready the next morning after the sunlight woke you up.
You yawn wholeheartedly before sitting up in your bed.
Still a little sleepy, you look around.
Chrollo is not next to you which is a oddly strange feeling.
You've gotten so used to have him next to you and close, even if you couldn't always touch him and your hand would glide through him, that the bed feels empty when he's not there.
"Chrollo?" you call out as you straighten into a sitting position on the bed before throwing the blanket off you to get out of the comfort of your bed.
There's no response.
You get up and into the bathroom, standing in front of the mirror above the sink as you brush your teeth.
You're still tired, more so than you usually are when your alarm wakes you for work.
There's fatigue settled into your bones, making your limbs feel heavy like tar and making each movement cost more energy than usual.
Sure, you didn't sleep in so there's certainly sleep your body wouldn't have minded getting, but it doesn't explain this level of exhaustion.
The exhaustion is so draining that you have to lean against the sink to spare some energy by supporting your balance, one hand braced on the cool tiles on the wall of your bathroom while the other keeps working the toothbrush over your teeth.
You get dressed, then you go downstairs.
As you descend the staircase you call out for Chrollo once more, but still nothing.
Alright then.
You go through your normal morning routine, only missing Chrollo's presence, before you make your way to the front door where you call out for him one last time.
"Chrollo?" you call louder than the times before, so loud in fact that your voice echoes slightly off the walls of the house, but he still doesn't appear in front of you or rounds a corner into your line of sight or calls back.
Odd.

a/n: It's been so, so long and I don't even know if anyone still has this book in their reading list or checks for updates occasionally?
This was my first english book, and I still very much enjoy hxh, so it will always have a place in my heart. I mentioned this before I think, but so much of my writing has changed in the past like two years—drastically so. It's just hard for me to continue writing this book with so much natural change in my writing style.
But worry not (those who are still interested that is) because I am not abandoning it, though I am re-writing it.
I will leave this book as I re-write it though. I want to have longer chapters, my current writing style (which I think is more pleasant anyways) but I also want to keep the original comments to this book so I'll keep it and not unpost or delete it.
Once I start with the re-write, I will post another chapter to inform you of this. After re-writing what I already have, I will of course continue the story and it will finally come to an end.
Thank you all so much for reading, I will see you soon again!!
