Michael above.
"Who do you think it is?" I asked Jeremy. We had thrown our stuff in the car in advance so that we would have time to meet up with the mystery person.
"Probably an angel." Jeremy murmured.
We got to the fountain and stopped. The trees rustled slightly with the wind. Jeremy and I looked at the pathway from the other side of the fountain. A man walked slowly towards us with his hands up.
"Look, I'm not here to hurt you. I just want to talk." He said. The clerk lady wasn't lying when she mentioned he was attractive. I blinked a couple of times but held my ground. Jeremy sighed in annoyance of my thoughts.
"Alright. Let's hear it." I said. He moved his hand slightly and I noticed a blue moonstone ring on his hand.
"Michael, there's no need to come off like this. You'll scare her half to death. You can't just introduce yourself in such a way." Jeremy sighed.
"Oh... right." He laughed and scratched the back of his neck. "My bad." He noticed me looking at him strangely and smirked. "I'd say you're checking me out or you noticed my ring. Maybe both."
I scoffed but my face went red. "So why did I give you the stone?"
"Maybe because you knew I would last the longest up in heaven. This is my first appearance to you in centuries. You have no idea who I am, do you." Michael laughed.
"I have a slight idea. Currently, you're ranked the number one angel in heaven... ever since Lucifer fell that is."
Michael nodded. "Basically. You'll know more about me soon enough. Just listen for now. I am on your side... obviously. I am working as a double agent to get more information for you and Poseidon."
"Poseidon is his mentor." Jeremy added.
"Hence water stone." Michael said. "Anyways, I just needed to let you know... Leo didn't betray you."
Jeremy and I were about to speak up when a hooded figure appeared from behind a rose bush. He took off his hood to reveal Leo.
"Liz... I'm sorry I had to do that to you. I needed a genuine reaction and I needed them to believe that I had switched sides." Leo pleaded. "Please forgive me. I'm sorry."
I wanted to punch his face in so bad. I guess I was madder at him not telling me his plan than I was mad at him potentially switching sides.
"Who gave you this order?" I asked. "Or did you act on your own?"
"Poseidon suggested it for the both of us." Michael said.
I gritted my teeth together. "Aren't we not supposed to get other Gods involved?"
"Michael, Leo... you guys could've ruined this whole plan!" Jeremy scowled at them. "All of these years of work for this shit."
"If you were truly on my side, you would be honest with me. If you can't do that then you might as well stay out of my way."
Michael chuckled. "Artemis, no need to go full on hot head on me. Time to cool off. You suggested I do this as well. I think its Leo you should rather talk to about this, not me."
"Then why-"
"Be here? Because I had to show you that I exist. I had to show you that I was your ally."
I stared him down slightly then turned to Leo.
"And I'm not with Hannah. I swear. It's a lie to gain their trust." He said.
