Larson above.
I stood there in shock not knowing what to say. Leo seemed a bit stuck too.
"Well?" Shelby asked. Not to say she was religious or anything, but she was very against devil worshippers. Her parents were religious nuts so naturally, she believed most of what she was told. I mean who wouldn't. The devil is evil from everything that was ever written about him and what he has done. But, sometimes there is still good when others don't see it.
"Shelby, I'm not a devil worshipper," Leo said calmly. "I just work for him... well, sort of."
"You-" She ran at him with anger, but Blake and Jeremy held her back. Becks looked between all of us confused.
"I don't understand what is going on." She whispered.
"You would if you believed," Leo said.
"Leo... stop now," Jeremy warned.
"Why? When I can tell them everything and force them to believe so they could see for themselves." Leo said with a somewhat wicked look on his face.
"Don't." Jeremy and Blake both said.
I looked between everyone and my eyes landed on Becks who was so confused and frightened it looked like she was going to cry.
"Ladies. As you know, the three of us guys are new here. But that is because we protect Liz. Jeremy is her guardian angel and Blake and I also watch over her even though I have fallen and well... Blake is a demon." Leo said.
"Leo!" Blake and Jeremy shouted.
The lights flickered a bit and the rain outside poured down harder.
"Leo, you idiot!" An Indian man who looked about thirty said as he appeared before us.
Becks fainted and Shelby froze, her eyes connecting with his.
"It's true." She whispered.
I furrowed my brows.
"I can just... feel your pureness. You are my angel." Shelby said softly.
The man bowed to her. "One and only. The name is Remiel."
Blake and Jeremy slowly let Shelby go as she continued to stare at her angel.
"Remiel." She said, more to herself as if remembering.
"Yes. I am in God's council of 10... much like Lucifer was and much like what Jeremy is... though of course we call him Jeremiel." Remiel said. "If it helps, you can just call me Rem."
Shelby nodded, still shocked and frozen in place.
"Rem! So great to see you!" Jeremy fist pounded him as a large smile spread across Rem's face.
"So Shelby, ready to meet your demon?" Rem asked.
"My what? No! I don't want a demon!" She burst out.
"Trust me. Everyone has one. They have to. They need someone to tell them what is right and what is wrong. They need a conscience and Larson is yours."
"Ah... Larson." Jeremy chuckled in nostalgia.
"Fucking hate that guy." Blake mumbled.
"Don't even know who he is." Leo shrugged.
"Mixed feelings about him... I get it. Larson and I have a love-hate relationship too." Rem chuckled. "He is rather young. Looks to be your age but well... you know. He died before Christ so he wasn't able to go to heaven... much like Blake over here."
