Chapter 12: Savior

Shelby, Blake, Leo, Jeremy and I arrived to the bonfire party right as it was raging. Becks had yet to show with her half of the alcohol. Kenzie looked a bit on edge because they were running low.

"Damn. People just showed up and we are already low!" She growled.

"Relax. I'm sure Becks is on her way." I said.

"She better be... or I'll make her life hell." Kenzie mumbled and strutted towards Jason.

Everyone was dancing to the music in their swimsuits and chugging their drinks like there was no tomorrow.

"Liz, want to dance?" Blake asked, taking off his shirt and grabbing a beer. The other boys did the same. I looked to Shelby and she shrugged, taking off her shirt so she was only in her bikini top. I did the same and took a cup of jungle juice Blake handed me. 

Becks' car pulled up 15 minutes later. She climbed out wearing a skimpy bikini that was barely covering her tits or her ass. Shelby and I excused ourselves from the boys and made our way over to her.

"You know... you do have to wear clothes in the car... It's California state law." Shelby said.

"Fuck the law. I have alcohol." Becks answered, opening the back of her car. "Well? Aren't you going to help me?"

Shelby and I helped her carry the alcohol over to where the other alcohol was.

"I brought another giant Gatorade jug for more jungle juice," Becks told Kenzie.

"Thank you! I was starting to wonder if I scared you off. But I mean, of course, you wouldn't miss this. This is a chance for you to climb back up the social ladder from the deeps of hell." Kenzie smiled sweetly.

"Kenzie..." I warned.

"O common. You saw that coming." Kenzie answered. "Well... you're free to do as you will."

Kenzie walked off towards Jason again. Jason looked at me for a moment before slipping his arm around Kenzie's shoulder and turning the other way.

"Ugh... he didn't even look at me. He's still obsessed with you." Becks glared. She grabbed a cup and filled it to the brim.

"Becks... I didn't ask for this."

She mimicked me and chugged the contents of the cup down.

"I need a refill... something stronger." Becks grabbed Jeremy's arm. "You're coming with me."

Jeremy sent us a "help" look as Becks dragged him off.

"Well, she's going to get shit faced." Leo murmured.

I laughed. "You always speak up at the weirdest times."

Leo shrugged. "Comes naturally."

Shelby and Blake started talking about some band while Leo grabbed my empty cup.

"Refill?" He asked. I nodded and he motioned his head for me to follow. Once we were by the rest of the alcohol, Leo looked up from filling my drink. "I think Shelby has a little crush on Blake."

I looked over and noticed her body language was showing the signs and she was laughing a lot. "That'd be nice."

Leo looked at me strangely and tilted his head to the side in confusion. "Why?"

"Because then I don't have to worry about him liking me."

"Just because a girl likes him, doesn't mean he will stop liking you."
