[1 week later]
A week had passed since they returned home. Jungkook had been caught up with work, tackling pending tasks and attending meetings, while Yn was busy organizing the house and making preparations for an upcoming dinner.
Moving between floors, her eyes swept across every corner as she supervised the maids, ensuring everything was in order.
Arms folded across her chest, she stood still for a moment, quietly assessing the progress.
Dissatisfied, she shook her head and instructed them to make the necessary adjustments, determined to get everything right.
“I’ve placed the vases downstairs. Bring me two of them—the porcelain ones, not the crystal. And please get me a glass of water,” she directed one of the maids, who nodded before leaving to fetch the items.
Her fingers drummed absentmindedly against the table as she took in her surroundings, momentarily lost in thought.
After a brief pause, she carefully pushed the table aside, walked over to the stool in the corner, and brought it closer, placing it against the wall.
Rising to her feet, she tried to steady herself. Unbothered, she focused on her task, carefully working on the frame hanging on the wall.
With some effort, she managed to take it down, stepping off the stool with caution before setting it aside.
Grabbing another frame, she climbed back up, struggling slightly under its weight. It was heavier than expected, but she persisted, adjusting it carefully.
A quiet sigh left her lips as she glanced downward, eager to finish quickly and step down. However, as she shifted, the stool wobbled slightly beneath her, making her heart race.
Just then, the maid returned, stopping in her tracks at the sight before her. “Ma’am, why are you doing this? I was just coming back!” she exclaimed.
At the sudden voice, Yn flinched, turning to look at her—only to lose her balance entirely. The stool tilted dangerously beneath her, and before she could react, she felt herself falling.
The maid gasped, sheer panic flashing across her face as she moved forward, but before she could reach her, a blur of motion beat her to it.
Strong arms caught her just in time.
“Goddamn it!” Jungkook’s voice rang out, breathless with panic as he held her securely. His wide eyes locked onto hers, filled with worry.
Yn blinked up at him, realizing what had just happened.
“What the hell were you thinking?!” he demanded, his voice tight with concern and frustration.
She swallowed, offering him a small, nervous smile, because she knew for sure. He was mad.
“Uh… just putting up the frame. When did you get back?” she asked softly, attempting to ease the tension.
Jungkook let out a deep sigh, staring at her in disbelief. “Who told you to do all this? What would’ve happened if I hadn’t come in time?
Why won’t you just listen to me?” His voice carried a mixture of frustration and concern, his expression reflecting the same.
Yn sighed, brushing it off. “It’s really not that big of a deal… nothing would’ve happened. See? I’m perfectly fine. You’re worrying over nothing.”
Jungkook exhaled sharply, his gaze hardening. “Nothing would’ve happened? And what if I didn’t catch you, hmm?”
She smiled, unfazed. “Not much. I’d have landed on the ground, maybe ended up with a few bruises.
