Silence clung to the walls like a thick fog, broken only by the steady rhythm of breathing and the sharp click of heels echoing across the floor.
Sophia paced slowly, gliding from one end of the room to the other, her eyes flickering occasionally to the girl seated in stillness.
Yn sat motionless, struggling to steady her breath, her body still reeling from the drug’s lingering effect.
Her gaze finally rose, locking onto the woman now standing before her, the same smug smile curling on Sophia’s lips.
“What do you want from me?” Yn’s voice sliced through the silence at last, low and heavy with exhaustion.
Sophia’s grin deepened as she dragged a chair forward and seated herself with calculated poise, legs elegantly crossed.
“Oh, sweetheart,” she purred, tilting her head. “Still so naive, aren’t you? You truly don’t know?”
She let the silence stretch for a beat longer before adding, “You know exactly why you’re here. Don’t pretend otherwise.”
Yn exhaled shakily, her voice trembling just beneath the surface.
“I don’t know. I never did. You've always left me speechless… in ways I wish I could forget. Why are you like this?
Why do you hate me so much?” Her eyes didn’t waver, desperate for answers, for something that finally made sense.
Sophia let out a soft, amused chuckle as she leaned forward slightly, eyes glinting with mock sweetness.
“You ask too many questions. You're here because I wanted you to be. That’s all there is to it. I just thought…
Maybe we could finally have a proper conversation. We never really got the chance, did we?”
Yn’s brows knit together, her tone sharp. “You’re not worth my words or my time. Every time we’ve spoken, you’ve left nothing but scars. Poison dressed as conversation.”
Sophia’s grin widened like a crack in porcelain, slow and unsettling.
“And yet, here you are. Right in front of me. Powerless. Lost. Just the way I prefer.”
Yn’s jaw clenched, her hands tightening in her lap as she fought to stay composed. “Tell me what’s wrong with you,” she demanded.
“I need to know. Why this hatred? Why did you even come into our lives? Why marry my father if this is what you were planning all along?”
Sophia burst into a laugh, cold, detached, before dragging her chair even closer, now face to face with Yn.
“You really want the truth?” she murmured, voice dipped in a cruel edge. “Careful what you wish for. You might just regret it.”
Yn’s expression twisted, her confusion only growing. “It’s about the money, isn’t it? The business? That’s why you dragged me here, to make some twisted claim?”
Sophia’s smile turned feral. “Sharp little thing. Straight to the heart of it. I did bring you here to reclaim what’s mine.”
Yn scoffed, shaking her head. “Yours? You own nothing. Delusion isn’t ownership, Sophia. It’s sickness.”
Sophia tilted her head, eyes blazing. “You’re the delusional one, not me.
This… all of it, belongs to me. I earned it. I bled for it. It’s mine, and I won’t stop until I take back every last piece.
No one else has a claim. Not you. Not anyone. Do you understand?”
Her voice cracked with obsession as she stepped closer. “And I’ll get it… even if I have to end you like—”
