Glancing at his watch, Jungkook made his way to the exit, heading to his office. Just then, he heard Yn calling out, making him stop and turn around.
"Wait!" He frowned, "What happened?" She sighed, catching her breath. "You forgot something."
He looked at her, a slight chuckle escaping his lips. 'What did I forget? No, wait—' His hand instinctively went to his pocket as he clicked his tongue, a grin forming.
"Go on, give it to me..." She nodded and stepped closer, his heartbeat quickening. But soon, his smile faded into a frown.
"Here, you left your phone on the table." He stared at her, feeling a pang of disappointment. 'Really?? Yeah, what were you expecting, Jeon Jungkook?'
Sighing, he took the phone from her hand. "Thanks." She smiled, "It's fine. Have a good day and be careful with your hand.”
He nodded, said his goodbyes, and left. As he drove, his hand moved effortlessly over the steering wheel, a pout forming as he sighed.
"I should control myself. But it's not entirely my fault—it’s my heart. I can’t control it, but how do I explain that to her? You're really dominating my senses, Mrs Jeon!"
He chuckled to himself, shaking his head slightly before refocusing on the road. After a short drive, he arrived and got along with his daily office work.
Meanwhile, Yn found herself drawn to the garden. With nothing else capturing her interest, she decided to spend her time surrounded by the vibrant flowers and lush greenery.
[A few hours later]
Jungkook wrapped up his meeting, left the conference room, and headed back to his office. He shrugged off his coat, set it aside, and sank into his chair with a tired sigh. Closing his eyes, he leaned back, letting the exhaustion wash over him.
Her face, the way she sat next to him, her scent—those were the only things on his mind.
Opening his eyes, he reached for his phone and turned it on. A soft smile spread across his face as he glanced at the screen.
Her eyes were closed, a slight pout on her lips as she hugged the pillow. He couldn’t look away from the picture. "I miss her already."
After a few moments of quiet admiration, an idea came to him. But then he realized, "I don’t even have her number. Seriously, Jungkook? You don’t have your own wife’s number? Unbelievable."
He placed the phone down, trying to think of another way to reach her. Should I call at home ? No, that doesn’t feel right...
He was still lost in thought when his phone rang, pulling him back to reality. He picked it up and smiled. "Hello, Mom?”
"Hello, my love! How are you? Don’t you miss me? I must have raised such a wonderful son, right?" she teased warmly.
He couldn’t help but chuckle. "Of course, I miss you! Everything’s good, just a bit caught up with work lately, so I haven’t had much time to chat. How’s Dad?" he asked.
She sighed, "Just remember not to overwork yourself, that’s all I ask. And forget about us for a moment—I hope you’re not neglecting my daughter, are you? I’ll be sure to ask her."
He smiled, shaking his head. "No, Mom, I’m not neglecting anyone. I try to manage as much as I can."
"Good. Just make sure she doesn’t feel lonely or sad. Give her the attention she needs." He laughed.
"Alright, alright! Don’t worry about it." Maybe I should ask Mom for her number... She might be able to help, he thought to himself.
Their conversation continued when Jungkook asked, "Uh, Mom… do you have Yn's number?"
