The day had been relentless. An intense strategy meeting with international investors, three major contract signings, a crucial call with the legal team, and a stubborn PR crisis that required nothing less than composure under pressure.

Yet, she navigated each challenge with unshakable poise.

Now, standing before the board, her gestures were minimal yet precise, her gaze steady as she led the discussion with quiet authority.

Sunlight poured through the glass walls, casting a soft glow across her face and catching the shine in her hair, illuminating her presence.

She radiated a quiet sophistication in a white organza scarf blouse, its light, diaphanous fabric playing against the sharp lines of her black straight-leg trousers and the clean elegance of her polished black ankle-strap pumps.

As the meeting wrapped up, she fielded the final questions with clarity and confidence.

One by one, the board members filed out. Alone now, she turned her attention to her laptop, scanning through unread emails.

Her secretary entered, placing a coffee beside her and updating her on the remaining schedule for the day.

She returned to her office, walking slowly towards her desk, but didn’t sit down right away.

Her gaze lingered on the chair—his chair—the one her father used to occupy, immersed in his work, commanding the room with quiet strength.

A chorus of memories stirred in her mind—her laughter echoing faintly, the soft click of her school shoes on the same floor, the warmth of moments that once filled these walls.

It was the same room, unchanged, yet everything felt different now.

She could almost see her younger self moving through it, back when life was gentler, when peace lived in the corners of her world.

Her eyes settled on the photo frame on the desk. The three of them captured in a moment frozen in time—she perched on her father's lap, her mother beside them, smiling brightly.

The sight pierced through her composure, and a quiet ache bloomed in her chest. Her fingers brushed the frame, tender and trembling, as a few tears slipped down her cheeks.

But she wiped them away quickly, unwilling to let them stay.

With a small shake of her head, she pulled herself back, lowering into the chair with a soft sigh. She reached for the files, letting work anchor her thoughts.

The hours drifted by unnoticed. She’d been at it nonstop since morning; a rhythm she had fallen into over the past week.

Her first week as CEO, and already, she was pouring herself into every detail, doing everything she could to honor the legacy left behind—and to shape her own.

[In the evening]

She was on a call, eyes flicking over the documents scattered neatly across her desk. “Mm-hmm, alright. I’ll let you know once I’m finished—”

Her words halted as a soft knock echoed at the door. Jungkook peeked in, just enough for their eyes to meet.

Yn’s expression shifted instantly, her eyes lighting up as she stood.

“I’ll have my secretary follow up with the details,” she said quickly, ending the call.

Jungkook stepped inside, and without a word, she crossed the room to him, wrapping her arms around his frame.

His embrace was immediate, warm, grounding. In his arms, the weight of the day slipped from her shoulders. He gently ran a hand along her back, pressing a soft kiss to her head.
