THIRD PERSON POV
"How was the talk?"
Malakas na napabuntong-hininga si Praipus, "Kuya, we know what you're going through, and we're worried for you. Bakit hindi mo na lang sabihin sa kan'ya ang totoo?"
"Praipus is right. You're running out of time, and your condition is getting worse," Yophiel added.
Plutus let out a bitter chuckle, running a hand through his hair. "I know," he muttered. "But what else can I do? I can’t just make her remember me.
"Come on, tell it to her, dumbass!" Satanus irritatedly said. "Who knows if her memory will come back like crashing waves?"
Plutus's lifeless eyes roamed around to see his brothers. "Even if I told her everything, knowing her, she’d only feel guilty. She’d force herself to remember just to save me. But damn... it's been three years, and there are still no signs of her memories returning. If she pushes herself now and fails… the bond between us will start to break. And if that happens… there’s a high chance she’ll die before I do." Plutus trembled as silent tears fell down his face.
"I'm scared… scared that I’ll lose her again. And this time, I don’t know if Kuya Lucifero’s blood could bring her back. This isn’t just about life or death, it’s about the bond that ties us together. And you know that once it snaps… there’s no way to fix it."
"I can't argue with that. Plutus is right. In our family, we are destined to have only one mate, and that bond last a lifetime." Lotan said.
"I'll support Kuya in whatever he decides," Praipus said firmly. "Minsan ng nawala sa'kin ang asawa ko, and I still remember the pain it left me with. I wouldn’t wish that on any of my brothers."
"And here come the lover boys.... You two sound like obsessive freak husbands," Satanus scoffed, which made all five of them, including Plutus, burst into laughter.
Praipus, Lotan, Yophiel, and Satanus all felt a sense of relief as they watched Plutus laugh. It had been so long since they had seen him like this, and it gave them a small hope that he was still holding on. But deep inside, they knew the truth. This illness wasn’t just a sickness, it was a curse that had been placed on their family.
The seven brothers share a deep bond when it comes to their fated mates. This connection gives them immense power, making them stronger than ever. But at the same time, it is also their greatest weakness, because if they lose their mate, it can destroy them completely.
"Is Nieves and Nicotiana know this side of yours, huh?" Yophiel added to the fire that made Lotan and Praipus panicked.
Lotan smacked his hands on the table in front of them. "Don't you dare, Kuya! This conversation stays here. You understand?"
"Lakas makawala ng pagkalalaki, if ever na makarating ito kay Nieves, damn." Gatong ni Praipus na nagpatawa muli sa kanilang lima.
"Alright, listen up," Yophiel said, making the guys stop. "Have you noticed how different Ottilie looks? She’s changed a lot in the last three years… kinda like she leveled up or something." He frowned, not sure if that was the right way to put it.
