THIRD PERSON POV
After Plutus left, Ottilie turned to find a hiding spot, but before she could move, a powerful force struck her side. The impact sent her flying, her body twisting mid-air before crashing into the desert sand. She rolled uncontrollably, sand scraping her skin and filling her mouth and eyes.
When she finally stopped, her body throbbed in pain, bruises forming on her arms and ribs, her breathing ragged and labored. Dust clung to her sweat-soaked skin as she struggled to lift herself from the ground, her vision blurring from the harsh hit.
"Argh!!" Ottilie cried in pain.
Despite the impact, pinilit ni Ottilie na bumangon at harapalin ang kung sino mang gumawa sa kan'ya nito. Nang makatayo ito, doon lang niya napansin ang dislocated nitong kaliwang kamay.
Then she heard it, a chilling laugh that echoed across the desert.
"Hahaha!"
The eerie sound sent a shiver down Ottilie's spine. For a moment, the pain in her body dulled as her senses sharpened.
Then suddenly, a woman emerged from the settling dust.
No, a demon.
She had a thin, sharp tail that moved like a whip behind her. Small horns peeked out from her long black hair, not as scary as the demon Ottilie had seen before. Her body looked unnaturally perfect, and she wore very little clothing, revealing smooth, pale skin that seemed to glow in the moonlight. Her eyes burned bright red, and her lips were as red as an apple. When she smiled, her sharp teeth shone.
"Hi, there!" The demon greeted with a wicked grin. "How was the experience? Apologies for that, napag-utusan lang ni boss," she added, halting a short distance from Ottilie's position.
Mas pinili ni Ottilie na manahimik, kailangan niyang maging alerto sa muli nitong pag-atake. Nag-iisip siya kung paano niya malalabanan ang isang 'to gamit ang abilidad niya. Unfortunately, her abilities were for healing, not combat. But now that she faces danger, she needs to think of something to protect herself until Plutus arrives.
"Cat got your tongue?" The demon sneered. "Oh, by the way, what's your name? I'm Lamia, and Yadid is my master. You see, I used to enjoy devouring children and seducing men, but that fun ended when that pathetic Yophiel caught me. Imprisoned me." Her eyes narrowed in annoyance.
"It was thanks to Yadid I'm free now, along with the others, helping our master defeat that handsome demon prince. No hard feelings, but I do have to kill you. Ready to die?"
"Ano ka sinuswerte?" Ottilie fights back.
Little did Lamia know, when she rambled on, Ottilie was secretly crafting an 8-foot sand golem behind her back. Its body was rough and heavy, shaped from solid desert sand, with glowing eyes fixed on the demoness.
The golem is now ready, waiting silently for Ottilie's command. It was a spell her father had once taught her to cheer her up when she couldn't stop crying. Now she wasn't using it for comfort but for protection.
"What the?!" Lamia hissed, whipping her tail behind her.
The golem charged without hesitation, its massive fist swinging toward Lamia. In a blur of motion, black smoke swirled around her, materializing into a sharp scythe. She raised it just in time to block the crushing blow. The impact sent ripples through the sand, shaking the desert beneath them.
