I rushed into my room slamming the oakwood door behind with a thud.

My heart was still racing wildly.

Beads of cold sweat gather on my forehead, as I cover my mouth with both of my hands.

How much does he know...?

How much has he heard!?

What is he trying to do!???

The questions kept on circling through my mind.

"You seemed to have a guest today"

"Perhaps. But I would say you are the unreadable one.

I replay his words in my mind...

Calm down he couldn't have possibily understood it all- I try to reason with myself...

But a small voice echoes at the corner of my mind, loud and clear- HE KNOWS!

I clutch my chest, my heart still pounding beneath

I felt the ground below my legs crumbling down as my trembling legs give away and I drop on my back.

My intuition was screaming 2 words loudly...

He knows.

He definitely knows!

My reality hit me like a truck.

I blinked once.

And then I laughed.

"Haha..."

It surprised me at first- a sharp, low, curling sounds escaping from my throat like smoke.

But before I could even process the whole situation. Something cracked open inside and wild, breathless sounds of laughter emerged from my throat.

"Hahahahahahaha!!"

I laughed out loud without any restraint.

Arron...

I wonder how did you feel...

The night you murdered your wife...

While relishing the body of a beautiful male slave on her bed...

How did you feel when that same wife you despised...

Woke up, perfectly alive and breathing!?

"Hahahaha..." I cover my mouth trying to muffle the sounds of my laugh.

The situation seems so funny and ironic.

It reminds me of an incident from my previous life.

The incident I had tried long and hard to forget...

The night my own father tried to strangle my mother to death.

My parents always hated each other. By the time I was 12, I was used to the constant fights, screams and the breaking of things.

So on that night when the screaming continued from my parent's room, I just ignored it and focused on my studies.

I had an exam tomorrow, but looks like my parents didn't seem to care the slightest.

My mother had been suspecting my father of having another woman whom he was hiding.

I was young, but still old enough to understand.

But I did not care.

If you care too much, you fail your exams.

The algebra question I was solving demanded my attention. It was tricky, not difficult but a tricky one.
