A/N: Aha ah, funny story, I realized there was never a ball! Lol so here is the very very very late epilogue! Xoxo

"Stop moving!"
"I'm not moving!"
"Yes you are!"
"Well maybe it would be easier to hold still if you quit yanking on my hair!"
"Stop being a drama queen!"
"I am not being a drama queen!"
"Are too!"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Am not!"
"Stop arguing! What are you, five?"
"This corset is strangling me!"
"News flash, you don't need to breathe! And this whole ball thing was your idea anyway!"
I huffed, having no comeback for that.
Russell put the last pin in place and stepped back to view his work. Well, more like Heidi's work. But Conner was having issues with the decorating committee, aka Dimitri and Felix, so she went to help them and told Russell to finish my hair.
He does not know the meaning of gentle.
"Satisfied, princess?" He mocked me and I stuck my tongue out.
I was in a simple gold dress that accented my eyes nicely. No make-up, because let's face it, I'm way too lazy for that. Plus, I don't exactly need it. My hair was done up into a fancy array of bobby pins and curls. I looked pretty good, if I do say so myself.
Just then, Conner waltzed in like he owned the place.
"Conner! Can't you knock?" I demanded.
He stopped in his tracks. "Sorry, are you decent?"
I rolled my eyes. "Obviously, dickhead. But that's not the point."
He just ignored me and said, "Decorations are done. Party starts in ten. They put Aro in charge of music so we might have an interesting night ahead of us."
"What?" Russell whined. He walked out grumbling about making sure we wouldn't all die of boredom.
"Are you ready?" Conner asked me. I raised a brow at him.
"Am I ever not?"
He snickered. "Then I shall escort the lovely lady to her prince charming...who is very excited to see you, might I add."
I grinned. "Alec is back?"
"Of course, why would he miss this?"
I looped my arm with Conner's and we walked out of the room. Aro had wanted me in heels, this being a special occasion and all, but Heidi snuck me flats. Even she knew heels were a lost cause on me.
"It's just that he didn't seem too thrilled with the idea." I confided.
Conner shrugged. "I don't trust him, but I know he'd do anything for you."
I smiled.
We reached the throne room doors, and I shot Conner a nervous glance before he pushed them open.
I inhaled sharply. It was beautiful.
The pillars had dim golden and red lanterns hanging from them and there was sparkly rope dangled over everything. The thrones were illuminated and the rest of the room was dark with an eerie, yet beautiful, glow to it. There were rose petals strewn across the glossy marble floor and the place smelled of vanilla and cinnamon. I smelled hints of frozen citrus and grinned.
A hand covered my eyes.
"Guess who?"
I indulged myself for a fraction of a second, inhaling his scent and leaning back against him before responding.
"My beautiful knight, come to rescue me?" I guessed playfully. I felt him smirk when he placed a kiss on my shoulder.
"Close enough."
I giggled, turning around to face Alec. He embraced me and when he pulled away, he didn't step back. For which I was grateful.
Music bloomed suddenly from the background, a very soft and gentle piano melody that I was unfamiliar with.
"May I have this dance?" Alec asked, eyeing me mysteriously with his ruby eyes. I smiled and nodded.
"Of course, love."
He took my hand and swept me into a gorgeous dance. I followed his movements closely and found I was quite capable of dancing.
"You're very beautiful tonight." He murmured. I could smell his breath while it fanned across my face from our closeness. It smelled nice.
"You're handsome as always." I said, leaning up a little to peck his lips. It felt so amazing to know that I was allowed to do that whenever I wanted. He was mine.
"I am a star where you are the sun, my love." He told me sincerely, and I might've blushed if I could.
"The sun is a star." I pointed out.
"Then you are the world." He whispered.
I smiled, realizing others had joined in. We danced like that for a while, and the outside world seemed to disappear. I felt so at peace with everything. Everyone I loved was in the same room as me, and they were dancing and laughing and it was perfect.
Conner and I had a one-on-one conversation when we recovered from the aftermath of what happened only a couple weeks ago. He told me everything that had happened to him since Russell and I left. Alec had gone on a mission to track down the remaining followers of Luca and destroy them.
I was just glad they were all safe.
Alec leaned in and whispered, "If I may escort you to our room, I have something to show you."
A delicious shiver crawled down my spine and I nodded, following him as he led me by the hand. When we reached his bedroom, I almost fell over.
"Fucking Subway..." I choked, "Alec..."
The air smelled of citrus and vanilla candles, as well as the aroma of the rose pedals scattered over the bed and floor. The bed was draped in red, silk sheets and the lighting was dim. Alec wandered calmly to the candle nearest to the bed and, with a gentle touch and a soft breath, he blew it out.
"Will you be mine?" He asked, turning to make eye contact. The look in his crimson eyes was full of love and acceptance, almost pleading. If I could cry, I would. I ran into his arms (vampire speed, mind you) and tackled him to the beautifully decorated bed, kissing him deeply and passionately. He laughed, and the sound was full and charming, like bells.
"Careful, Reagan, you're still stronger than me." I pulled back immediately, almost falling backward. He caught me and pulled me back.
"Alec, this is beautiful." I murmured, kissing him once again on his perfect lips.
"Only the best for you." He replied. "If you want it."
"I want everything you can give me." I giggled.
"You asked for it," He winked, then continued kissing me.
And everything was perfect.
