A/N: Holy crap this is a long chapter! Lol Reagan's dress to da right people!! :D -->
~*~
My eyelids fluttered, and I rolled over, yawning. I stretched, then looked at the alarm clock. It was almost eleven. Holy crap!
I got up and hurriedly ate the fruit in the fridge, leaving the soda. After, I pulled an outfit together and got in the shower, scrubbing furiously, not taking time to feel the water soothe my tense muscles. When I got out, I brushed my teeth, frantically trying to tame my bedhead. My dark auburn hair stuck up in all directions. It did that every time I had a nightmare and rolled around in my sleep.
And I had a nightmare. It was the same as the one I had the other night. I still can't figure out what it all means. Was Alec just messing with me when he said 'play your cards right'? Or did it have a subliminal meaning?;
After I got my hair straight, I ran in my towel to my suitcase, only to find a note on it. The writing was elegant and sharp.
Reagan,
I bought this for you to wear today. I don't care if you don't like it, I think it will suit you quite well. There are shoes by the door. Don't keep my brother waiting, he is not in the best of moods today.
I hope he doesn't kill you,
Jane
How sweet.
I picked up the dress that was under the note. I examined it critically. It was a soft brown, mid-thigh length dress with criss-cross straps and small, intricate designs lining the curves. Simple, yet pretty.
I put on matching underwear and slid the dress over my head. I looked at myself in the full length mirror by the bathroom. I twirled my hair a little, making faces and hoping Jane was right. I wasn't very good with colors or fashion, so I hoped she knew what she was doing. Although I did like how fiery my hair looked with the brown color accenting it.
I slipped on the brown flats by the door and spritzed a little perfume on. It was a very fruity smell. I loved it.
I skipped happily down the hall, the warning on the note stored in the back of my mind. He was nice to me last night. I mean, nice for Alec. He'd be nice today, right?
I wondered if it was a date. I guess it wasn't really. Since I was his bloodsinger, Jane wanted us to know each other better, but it wasn't like that, was it?
I remembered the first day, when he asked Aro about people named Edward and Bella. Then he asked if it would be the same for me...what did that mean? Did it have something to do with playing cards?
Agh! Too many questions!
I forced them out of my mind and headed downstairs to the throne room. I didn't really know my way anywhere else--except for Alec's forbidden fountain room--so I decided I'd try to look for him there.
He wasn't in the throne room, but Aro and his brothers were. I thought that's what they were, anyway.
"Child, you look lovely. Alec is waiting in the garage. Out the double doors and to the right, there should be a door. It's where you were when you first arrived." Aro informed me. I guess he remembered we were going out today.
I smiled and followed his instructions. I turned right out the double doors and soon found myself in the familiar area where Russell was taken and I was knocked out.
Felix rounded the corner and walked past me. As he did, he winked and said, "Good luck."
Did everybody know?!
