A/N: So since this is a romance story, I figured I should actually intertwine some romance. So I'll get moving with that XD

"Fifty," Jane said, smirking characteristically.
Alec tossed in his bet and murmured, "Raise you twenty."
Demetri rolled his eyes next to Alec and muttered an annoyed, "Call."
Felix scowled and said, "I fold." He laid his cards down.
They all looked at me, except Alec, who seemed very intrigued by the floor.
I looked down at my cards and frowned. One said "Trust Him", the other "Don't Trust Him". What the hell? I don't think those are playing cards. Hell, I can't play poker anyway.
I looked back up at the three expectant eyes. Alec slowly looked up at me and smiled a very unsettling, evil smile.
Not knowing what else to do, I said, "Fold" and laid down my cards.
Alec launched himself across the table in my direction.

I sat up straight, gasping. After the initial shock, I frowned. Weirdest dream ever. Trust him, don't trust him? Did that mean Alec? Or someone else?
Considering he'd now attacked me in my dream and in real life I wasn't too keen on trusting the guy.
I looked at the clock and it was four in the morning. Still dark out. I'd never be able to sleep again tonight, so I figured I'd get ready for the day.
I sighed, getting up and walking to the shower. I cleaned up and put on pants, a black and purple tee, my leather jacket, and socks. I brushed through my stubborn hair and brushed my teeth. When I was finished, I looked in the fridge and there was a fruit bowl and a soda. Okay, seriously, these people can't feed me soda for breakfast. Are they trying to fatten me up so they can eat me?
I shivered at the thought.
I finished the fruit and left the soda. Of course I was still a bit thirsty, which lead me into my first adventure for the day. Find water.
I walked out into the hall, and shivered at the slight breeze in the air. I crossed my fingers and went left, away from the staircase. I turned right down another corridor, and right again after a while.
I was in a darker side of the castle, with red carpeting and portraits up all over. Everything was candle-lit here, because there were no windows to let natural light in. I came to a set of double doors, though they weren't as grand as the ones to the throne room. I opened them and let myself in, observing the area.
It was a dark room, with a large marble fountain in the middle. Inside the fountain, there were coins and lights, making the fountain seem like a chandelier, seeing as there wasn't anything else lit in the room. The west wall was glass, so you could see out into the starry night. The carpet was black, the walls cream, and there were plants located around the room. It was small, homey, and made me smile.
Well, look at that, I found water.
I walked to the wall of windows and looked out, admiring the view of the city from here. It was so beautiful.
A movement out of the corner of my eye caught my attention, and I whirled, my heart skipping a beat. Alec was standing at the edge of the room, half shadowed. He was staring at me with an expression of anger and hurt.
"Sorry," I breathed, careful not to do anything stupid, like, I don't know, fall over.
"What are you doing in here?" He asked tersely. He suddenly reminded me of the dream, and I paled slightly.
