A/N: YO! PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE READ THIS!

Howdy;D I'm doing a writing CONTEST! That missing part where Alec and Reagan went hunting? I want you guys to write up your version of it and send it to me :D It doesn't have to be long, but probably at least a page or so. I don't like to put limits, though. Just remember, the more descriptive, the better! Oh, and you can call it "chapter 22 1/2" if you like, or you can follow my pattern of chapter names. I know, I know, prizes right? Well, the winner gets to know this surprise I've been talking about early, for starters;) Also, I will read any stories of theirs they want me to, vote, comment, and make a banner:)

And for me, doing all three is a big deal.

So send in your writing, guys;) It would brighten my day a bunch to see how you guys imagined that missing scene to be!

"What is happening?" Alec growled angrily, stalking after Russell along the beach. I followed, smart enough to stay out of Alec's way, but too curious to stay quiet.

"Alec, chill out." I told him nonchalantly, giddy with ironic happiness that I didn't struggle to keep up with my boys. "Russell, what do you mean fire?"

"I don't know!" Russell yelled in frustration over his shoulder. "Someone started a fire in the castle, maybe outside...Heidi screamed, and when I got to her, there were wolves. Werewolves...they were long and skinny and bad."

We sped up, no longer needing a slower pace to chit chat. I got the gist of it: werewolves attacking, fire in castle...it meant two things. First, the battle wasn't over.

Second, there was a chance that Conner was alive.

The second thing hit me like a wrecking ball, smashing into me like a material object. While I ran, I daydreamed, in an odd sort of vampire way. I imagined Conner alive and healthy...happy, like the second brother he'd always been to me. Then I remembered my vision with surreal clarity.

And it was a vision. And the girl I'd seen in it was Conner's future lover. And we were all going to be okay. I'd seen it. I knew it.

And the surge of relief that flooded my body and washed over me instantaneously vanished, because the next thing that happened was another wrecking ball, but this time it hurt more. The three of us, dark shadows racing through the oblivious night, no humans awake to watch us, halted at the sight of the castle, red with fire bright like the sun. The fire wasn't spilling out like I'd seen in a hundred movies--it was trapped inside, lightning the place up like fireworks, smushed where no authorities of any kind were going to be alerted.

Because no one would be watching to see it. It was a catastrophe in the making, and so many hundreds of thousands of people were never going to know it happened for the rest of their short lives.

"Reagan, stay outside. Don't let anybody in or out." Alec ordered, and Russell looked at him with respect and something like silent agreement.

And I knew what they were thinking, without using my mirroring abilities.

"No!" I said above the roar of the fire beyond the stone walls. What was incredibly loud in my sensitive ears, would be so muffled to a human's weak hearing.

"Reagan--" Russell began.

"Don't argue!" I interupted. "Just find a way to put out the fire! There's something I have to do."

Without answering the questions in their faces, I bravely ventured into the depths of the castle, turning corners until I found the main double doors. The heat of the flames around me was so intense of my skin that I felt clogged up--but I wouldn't sweat. My body wasn't so weak anymore. I was strong enough to survive this.
