The roads were quiet, the sky starting to turn orange as the sun began to set. Jackson drove smoothly, one hand on the steering wheel, the other resting near the gear. Namjoon sat beside him, keeping his head low, his cap hiding most of his face.

His heart was still beating fast. He kept replaying the courtroom scene in his head—Joo-young’s smirk, the judge’s shout, his siblings’ help, and then… the escape.

“Almost there,” Jackson said, eyes focused on the road.

Namjoon didn’t reply. He was still thinking. His hands were shaking just a little, but he kept them tight in his lap.

Ten minutes later, Jackson slowed down near an old building hidden between trees and a fence. It looked like no one had lived there for years. The windows were dusty, the walls had cracks, and grass had grown all around the gate.

“Is this the place?” Namjoon asked, his voice low.

Jackson nodded. “Yeah. Safehouse number three. No cameras, no neighbors. No one will find you here.”

They got out of the car. Jackson unlocked the gate and pushed it open with a loud creak. They quickly went inside, shutting it behind them.

The inside of the house was simple—old wooden floors, a small kitchen, a couch, and one bedroom. But it was clean and quiet.

Namjoon sat down slowly on the couch, finally letting out a long sigh.

“I can't believe I really did it,” he said quietly. “I ran like coward”

Jackson pulled off his jacket and dropped it on a chair. “You didn’t run. And you are not a coward. You fought back. They were trying to trap you.”

Namjoon looked down, his voice barely above a whisper. “I know… but now the whole world thinks I’m guilty. First, they called me a murderer… and now, a coward who couldn’t even defend himself properly. Everything I’ve built… everything I stood for… it’s all falling apart.”

Jackson sat beside him, resting his elbows on his knees. “Let them think whatever they want for now,” he said softly. “The truth won’t stay hidden forever. And when it comes out… they’ll see who the real coward is.”
