💀💀💀

At midnight, the streets were quiet—too quiet. The kind of quiet that made even the engine’s hum sound loud.

Namjoon sat in the passenger seat, head resting lightly against the window. His eyes stared out at the dark city, but his mind was somewhere far away. Jackson glanced at him every few minutes, noticing the tired slump of his shoulders, the pale lips, the red and swollen eyes.

But Jackson didn’t ask. He respected the silence.

“What's the next plan?” Namjoon suddenly asked, his voice low, breaking through the stillness.

Jackson shifted his grip on the wheel. “Not fully sure,” he replied. “YN’s got it all planned.”

Namjoon raised an eyebrow and turned to him, “And she didn’t tell you anything?”

Jackson smirked lightly. “You know her as your baby sister. But I know her as an agent. When she plans something, she has one rule—‘The less we know, the better we move.’”

Namjoon blinked at him, a small flicker of surprise in his tired eyes. “She really said that?”

Jackson gave a small nod. “Yup. Your sister’s all smiles and giggles until the mission starts. Then she’s sharper than anyone I’ve worked with. Cold. Focused. Dead serious.”

Namjoon smiled faintly, a mix of pride and disbelief. “She grew up too fast,” he mumbled.

Jackson glanced at him again, this time longer. “You all did.”

They fell into silence again, but this time it wasn’t heavy. It was calm. Like the brief moment before a storm.

As the city lights faded behind them and the road stretched ahead, Jackson reached into the side compartment and pulled out a burner phone, handing it to Namjoon. “YN said to turn this on once we’re five minutes from the safehouse. She’ll call.”

Namjoon took it wordlessly, staring at the blank screen before holding it loosely in his lap.

Jackson took another turn, entering a more remote area now. No street lights. Just open road and darkness.

“Do you think we’ll make it out of this?” Namjoon asked suddenly, his voice almost a whisper.

Jackson didn’t look at him. “Only if we trust each other,” he said, eyes straight ahead. “And follow your sister’s lead.”

Because right now… YN wasn’t just his sister.

She was the one holding all their fates in her hands.

And trust her? Namjoon would do that with closed eyes, even if he were standing at the edge of the highest cliff.
Because YN wasn’t just his little sister anymore. She was his shield. His hope.
The only reason he hadn’t broken completely.
