Chapter 5 - Protective Natsu

~Lucy POV~

I slowly opened my eyes allowing them to adjust to the brightness of the room. I don't remember my room looking like this or having this much light in it, in fact I don't even remember it being this warm. I kick the bed sheets off and scan the surroundings and realised that this was not my room, it was Natsu's..but how did I end up here ?

"Someone's finally awake...sleep well ?" Said Natsu standing in the doorway smirking at me.

"Yeah actually I did. Why am I here ?" I said standing up from the bed.

"Well...last night you sleepwalked into my room and got into my bed and I was too tired to tell you to leave so I just let you stay." Me sleepwalking ? This house must be having strange effects on me as I don't remember ever sleepwalking in my life. I guess I was dreaming Natsu carried me to his room.

"Anyway enough chat. My friends are coming over. Wear this and some makeup." He said throwing a maid outfit to me which looked rather short.

"Ummm where's the rest of the dress ?" I say questioning the length of it.

"That's it." He said winking at me making my heart flutter. "If you want this back then you'll have to do what I say." He says waving the necklace in front of my face. I glared at him and headed off to the bathroom in his room to get washed and changed. I squeezed into the dress and cringed at the length of it. I applied only a little makeup not wanting to look like a clown and headed downstairs to where Natsu was.

"What took you so...." Natsu's jaw dropped preventing him from finishing the sentence. He stared at me for what felt like hours before he recomposed himself and finished his sentence. "Long..."

"Is something wrong with me ?" I asked him, feeling shy and embarrassed.

"N-no it's just you..." I looked at him waiting for him to finish what he was saying hoping it was nothing negative. "You...you... Look nice..." He said finally and I breathed a sigh of relief before an awkward silence engulfed the room.

The doorbell rang breaking the awkward silence and I started to feel nervous when 5 boys walked through the door. I felt their eyes on me and started to feel uncomfortable.

"Who's this chick ?" Said the blonde one smirking at me and getting closer to me making me cower back into the wall.

"Her name is Lucy and you're getting too close to her, Sting." Said Natsu standing between us and shoving him away. I'm glad he kept his promise to protect me.

"Woah dude chill ! I was just going to say hi my own way.." I really don't like this guy.

"Well looks like you won't this time, or else." Natsu said growling at him.

"Or else what ?" He said getting into Natsu's face. Great they're probably going to fight now.

"Woah, woah, woahhh lets just chill like what we came here to do." Said a boy with black hair while splitting Natsu and Sting apart. "I'm Rogue by the way, I'm that perverts brother." He said smiling at me.

"I'm Gray." Said another handsome looking boy smiling at me. I couldn't help but stare at his abs.

"And I'm Jellal, nice to meet you." He was also handsome and had blue hair and a tattoo over one of his eyes.

"Gajeel." Said a boy with piercings. He seemed like the kind of guy I would never approach, he gave off a scary vibe. Then again Natsu gave off a scary vibe too yet I felt attracted to him.

"Excuse him, he may seem mean but deep down he's a softy." Said Jellal and I chuckled.

They all sat in the living room and I followed them walking closely behind Natsu.

"Lucy,get us a drink. 5 beers and one water with ice." He said avoiding eye contact with me. Why is he suddenly acting so cold towards me.

"Sure." I say rolling my eyes. I made my way to the kitchen and started to pour the drinks.

~Natsu POV~

I regret making Lucy wear that outfit but to be honest I didn't realise the skirt was so short until she actually tried it on. I couldn't believe Sting being the usual pervert he is. He better not lay a hand on Lucy.

"So, can I sleep over here and keep Lucy company?" Asked pervert.

"No you can't. How about you go keep your 37 cats company at home and get lost." I snapped.

"It's not like she's your girlfriend. She's just a girl you kidnapped." Touché.

"Oi Natsu, do you love her ?" Said Ice queen Gray wiggling his eyebrows.

"No." I said coldly. "Now drop the topic, let's talk about our next mission."

We started talking about the mission when Lucy came in with our drinks. She was passing us our drinks when Sting suddenly smacked her butt. She gasped and I immediately got up from my chair to beat him but Lucy did something unexpected. She picked up a beer and poured it all over him. We all started laughing at him.

"Oops." She said. Stings face started to twitch with anger. He doesn't like being humiliated in front of others. He grabbed Lucy's wrist but before he could hit her I grabbed his shirt and pinned him against the wall.

"Don't you ever touch my Luce again. Now get out, I don't want to see you here ever again." I said growling at him.

"This isn't the end Dragneel." He spat venomously before I pushed him out the door and slammed it behind me.

I sat back down in my seat while Lucy stood their shocked as well as the rest of the guys.

"You can go to your room now Lucy." I said looking at her. "And...I'm sorry...for this.." The boys gasped but I ignored them and focused my attention on Lucy who seemed to be..blushing ? Maybe she isn't well. I watched her as she left the room. The only sound in the house were her footsteps walking up the stairs. I turned round to face the boys who still had their mouths open.

"What ?" I said puzzled by their expressions.

"Dude you totally love her." Said Gray. Do I ?

~ Lucy POV~

The words Natsu said kept playing in my. 'My Luce'. And he also apologised to me. I couldn't believe it. I removed the short, uncomfortable maid dress and put on Natsu's old shirt which still had a faint trace of his scent and fell asleep thinking about him, dreaming about him.
