Chapter 13 - Kiss

~Natsu POV~

I couldn't stop thinking about Flare. What does she want ? Flare was just a girl that would swing by my room once in a while. She always thought I liked her but I just slept with her for distraction. One day she caught me sleeping with someone else and she made a big deal about it because she thought we were a thing.

In reality, all we were was a mistake. Everytime I met someone new Flare would always kill them. She said I only belonged to her and no one else. Eventually she moved away but now she's back and I know for a fact that Lucy is in danger.

I walked upstairs to my room in which Lucy was staying in. She was lying down staring at the ceiling in deep thought. It's been a week since since Lucy has been wounded and she's almost fully recovered. Her wounds have gotten better thanks Dr Dragneel.

"Natsu, since Gajeel and Gray last visited you started to look troubled ever since then. What's wrong ?" She asked sitting up.

"Nothing." I said handing her a glass of water so she could take her medications.

"Can I ask you a question ?" She asked after swallowing her medicines. I nodded slowly unsure of what she was about to ask me. "Who's Flare ?" She said taking a deep breathe.

"How do you-"

"I heard you speaking to Gray and Gajeel. I'm wounded, nor deaf." She stated.

"Don't do that again. It's none of your business. Just stay out of my business, you're not my girlfriend so stop acting like it. I don't care about you in that way, i never will. You're just a girl I kidnapped. You mean nothing to me." I over at her and she seemed hurt. I could see tears starting to form in her beautiful brown eyes. I'm a monster, I don't deserve her.

I was about to leave the room when she spoke again. "Why...why did you save me then. Why did you not just let me die..." She said in a shaky voice. I could tell she was crying. I started to get this strange feeling inside of me again. I felt like turning round and kissing her and telling her how sorry I am.

But I couldn't.

I shut the door behind me and went downstairs. I sat in the couch while drinking a can of beer and skimming through some TV channels. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket so I took it out. Someone was calling me, the problem is that it was unknown. I swiped the phone open and accepted the call.

"Hey Natsu~" purred an annoying voice on the other side of the phone. It was her, Flare the freak.

"How did you get my number you crazy bitch." I spat.

"Your friend Sting gave it to me after calling me and telling me about your new affair~" I clenched the beer can making the beer spill out.

"Leave.Her.Alone." I said through clenched teeth.

"Goldilocks is going to be lying underground soon once I'm finished with her anyway." She laughed evilly.

"Don't you dare lay a single finger on Lucy. If you do I will kill you with my own hands." I said feeling angrier by the second.

"Whatever Natsu. You're mine. We are destined to be together. If I can't have you, no one can."

"You're wrong. I just used you. I don't feel anything for you. The only feelings I have are towards Lucy. She's making Mr become a better person, unlike you." There was silence on the other end of the line.

"I love Lucy, and that will never change." I said and shortly after it was followed by a long beep signalling that she must've hung up. I threw my phone angrily on the other couch as I cursed. I need to keep Lucy safe.

~Lucy POV~

What Natsu said really hurt my feelings. It felt like my heart got ripped out of my chest. I thought that me and him were starting to get closer, but I guess my imagination ran ahead of reality. Reality slapped me across the face knocking me down from cloud 9.

I was about to go to sleep when I suddenly heard Natsu shouting on the phone. My curiosity got the best of me, I couldn't help but eavesdrop.

I couldn't hear much so I slipped out of bed and carefully tip-toed towards the door.

"Leave.Her.Alone" leave who alone ? What's going on ?

I opened the door a bit wider in attempt to hear more of the conversation.

"...I will kill you with my own hands." My eyes widened. Who is he going to kill ? Why ?

I began to tip toe downstairs to attempt to hear the conversation.

" You're wrong. I just used you. I don't feel anything for you. The only feelings I have are towards Lucy. She's making me become a better person, unlike you." I couldn't believe what I had just heard. He has feelings towards me ? Who is he even saying this to ?!

My thoughts were interrupted once I heard three words. Three words which made my heart start racing and my jaw drop.

"I love Lucy." I began smiling to myself. I'd been waiting for him to say those words for ages.

"Lucy, what are you doing here ?!" Shouted Natsu from the bottom of the stairs. I noticed that while I was in my daydream he had knocked half the furniture in the living room over. "You didn't hear anything did you ?" He asked.

"No." I said shaking my head slowly. I had to lie, I couldn't tell him I heard or he'd snap at me again.

"Why are you down here ?" He asked firmly.

"I was just umm thirsty..." I lied.

"Thirsty to hear my conversation ?" He replied raising an eyebrow.

"N-no" I lied again.

"Look at me in the eye and tell me you didn't hear anything." He said getting closer to my face.

His deep onyx eyes were staring into mines, his soft lips only centimetres away from my face.

I felt myself subconsciously start to inch closer to him until my lips made contact with his. It wasn't long until he kissed back and melted into the kiss. Our lips were going in sync with each other. The kiss was full of passion, it was perfect.

"I love you too Natsu." I said as we pulled apart out of breathe.

THEY KISSED. FINALLY. I wonder what Natsu's reaction will be. Do you think he'll once again say he was lying on the phone or will he accept the truth that he loves Lucy. :)
