Chapter 6 - Mood Swings & Pizza

~Natsu POV~

"Dude you totally love her" Said Gray. Do I ? Of course not. I'm Natsu Dragneel and I don't love anyone apart from myself, I just use people and when I'm done with them I throw them away.

"I knew you were stupid, but not that stupid to think I would fall in love with someone, especially that girl." I said looking disgusted and trying to convince myself that what I was saying was true. "What makes you think that anyway?" I asked curiously.

"Well, I've never seen you stick up for a girl like that before or really anyone to be honest." True...

"And that's all ? Just that is supposed to prove I...l-l-love that girl ?" I said choking the word love out. I don't really recall using that word ever in my life. The thought of love just disgusted me. Love is for the weak.

"Of course it's not all. 'My Luce.'" He said mocking me. I glared at him in response. "You blush when you look at her too and you even said sorry to her ! You do love her Natsu. Admit it, she's melted the ice surrounding your heart." I shot a threatening look at Gray. What does he know about love anyway.

"How do you know so much about love anyway ?" I said raising an eyebrow at him and dodging his accusations so I wouldn't have to admit anything. I can't admit I love her until I know myself for sure. I'm very confused but I'm certainly attracted to her. That I know for sure.

"Juvia duh." Who's Juvia ?! Oh yeah wait it's that blue haired chick. I started laughing at him.

"You love someone ! How lame !" I said laughing my head off making Gajeel start to snicker as well.

"Whatever Natsu. Come on Gajeel let's so go so we can leave Natsu alone with his Luce~." He mocked as they got up and left. Finally peace and quiet.

I looked up at the clock on the wall. 7pm, 'bout time I ordered something to eat since I can't be bothered cooking. I wonder if Lucy likes pizza... Why do I care anyway. Too bad we're having pizza either way. I phoned the pizza place and ordered one pizza pepperoni for me and one margherita for Lucy.

"Lucy I ordered pizza ! Like it or not too bad !" I shouted at her from the bottom of the stairs.

"Thanks." She said. Her voice sounded a bit wobbly. Is she crying ? Maybe she just woke up.

It's been 1 hour since I called and my stomach was grumbling like crazy ! Where the hell are these guys at ?! I quickly jumped up and got the door as soon as I heard the doorbell ring.

"Here's your pizza's sir." He said handing me over the pizza's.
"That will be £18" He said.

"No it will be free because you were late." I said attempting to close the door but he stopped it with his foot.

"You better pay me." He said giving me a threatening look. I stayed silent before bursting into a fit of laughter. His threatening look looked like a clown in a circus nyahahaha. He got even angrier and pushed me causing me to lose my temper. Nobody touches me...ever.

"If you don't leave right now I will make you leave, but I won't just make you leave this house, I will make you leave this planet." I said glaring at him. He gulped in response and scurried away. I closed the door and set the pizza on the table.

"Luce I mean... Lucy Pizza is here hurry up." I shouted and shortly after she appeared in the kitchen. Her eyes were red and puffy and glossy. She's definitely been crying.

She sat opposite me and started nibbling on her pizza. It was very quiet and none of us were talking. Awkward.

"Um do you like the pizza ?" I asked trying to make conversation with her. I don't know why i even care or why I'm trying to talk with her. I guess I'm just bored that's all.

"Yeah Thankyou..." She said still looking sad but trying to smile.

"What's wrong ?" I asked.

"Why ?" She asked.

"I'm not stupid I can tell you've been crying. So quit acting like nothing is wrong and tell me what's wrong." Oops that came out harsher than I meant.

"I don't get it ! One minute you're so nice and the next minute you're back to your old harsh self !" She said raising her voice. She's right, I don't mean to be like this I'm just not use to love anymore or really being nice to people. I've been through too much pain in life.

I took a deep sigh and counted to 10 to calm down and avoid me shouting at her and making her cry further. "I'm sorry." I said and her beautiful brown eyes widened once again. "Can you please tell me what's wrong ?" I don't care about other peoples feelings often but this time it's different. For some reason I do and that's why I'm confused because I'm attracted to her but at the same time I'm not capable of loving anyone. I don't want to hurt her.

"I just...miss my life. I'm tired of being here and being treated like crap.." She stated blandly. I don't understand how I've been treating her like crap ?! She slept in my room the other day and used my bathroom and I stuck up for her. I've treated her nicer than any other person that's been here.

"Treated like crap ?! What the hell ! I stuck up for you and by doing so I lost a friend ! Then I bought you pizza and let you use my bathroom and I brought you to my room to sleep because you were cold !!" I shouted and regretted the last part. Damn it she'll now think I'm a pervert.

"Wait....that was you that brought me there ? I thought you said I slept walked there..." She said blushing.

I didn't reply and took another bite out of my pizza.

"Natsu. Was it you ?" She asked. Her mesmerising eyes staring deeply into mines searching for an answer.

"Yes." I said turning my gaze away from hers.

"Why ?" She asked.

"Because I love you." Her eyes widened  in response and her face turned red instantly.
