Chapter 46 - Human Shield

~Natsu POV~

Gray lay unconscious on the floor as blood began oozing out of his shoulder. The more blood I see the more the ghastly memories of the past come back.

The only blood I'm willing to see is my father's as well as Sting's.

I dragged my eyes off Gray to the shooter that was standing right before me.

My Father.

What a surprise.

I ran over to Gray shaking his body examining his wounds as my father stood there smirking at me as he watched me with a going of satisfaction in his eyes. It was as if he enjoyed seeing me in so much pain.

"Wake up Gray ! Wake up !" I shook him again.

"He won't wake up ever again." He laughed as he twirled his gun in his hand. Sick asshole.

"Gajeel, while I distract him, take Grays body away. He's not dead, I can feel his pulse but if I make it obvious he's alive my father will no doubt shoot him again." I whisper to Gajeel as I face my back towards my dad so that he couldn't hear or see if I was talking to anyone.

Once I heard Gajeel mumble a soft "yes." I turned back around and scowled at the horrible wrinkle bag standing before me.

"You're going to pay for what you did !" I shouted gritting my teeth together. My dads amused gaze shifts from me to Lucy.

"You look afraid dear, what's wrong ?" Tch. Maybe she's just scared since she has an ugly asshole creature standing in front of her. He looks like a new breed of sea monsters - Wrinkigeelious.

"Don't talk to her. She can't understand you anyway. Last time I checked idiot wasn't a language she spoke." My dad grunted and averted his now angered gaze back to me.

Luckily while he was focused on Lucy, Gajeel took his chance to take Gray out of here. Now it was just me, Lucy and my father.

"Lucy, leave." I said walking over to her and reaching for her hand.

"No ! No one is leaving this room." My father said aiming the  gun at the pair of us. "This gun is very powerful. It's the one I used on your friend. One bullet and you're dead." Well, clearly didn't work on Gray, didn't it father ?

"Whatever. What do you want from us ?" I subconsciously stood in front of Lucy acting as her human shield incase this psycho decided to suddenly shoot.

"I just want to ask a few questions...can't I get to know my son a little more ?"

"Son ? I'm not your son and i will never be. Not after what you did to my family." I spat. A small smile began to tug at the corner of his lips as he imagined that night again. He tapped his finger on the trigger of the gun reminiscing all the memories he had.

"Son, I just did some pest control that's all." I felt my nose crinkle in anger. How can a man possibly kill his own wife and young daughter and yet feel no remorse whatsoever.

"You're absolutely disgusting. You know you killed them just to cover up your disgusting affair with Sting's mum !" I shouted. I was beginning to lose my patience with him. The way he talks about that night as if it were nothing continues to sock me to this very day.

"Hmm correct. Your poor little sister, she shouted "daddy, you're home ! Can you please read me a bed time story ?" I said "of course honey ! Let's act it out." And so we did. She was the deer and I was the hunter. Boom." He laughed.

This wasn't a man, this wasn't my father. This was pure evil himself standing before me.

"And your mother, she managed to squeeze a few words before she finally died. Her last words were, "leave the kids alone, please." She even squeezed in the word please, how adorable !"

I couldn't help but feel both tears of anger and sadness build up. I began subconsciously clenching my fists along with my jaw. He killed my mum and Wendy as if they were nothing.

And now I'll kill him as if he's nothing too.

"Son of a bitch !" I said charging towards him with clenched teeth and a firmly closed punch ready to swing at his decaying jaw.

"Natsu !" Lucy shouted in fear as I managed to land the first punch on my fathers face. Words can't describe how good that felt.

"You bastard !" He shouted loading his gun ready to shoot me. I tried to grab the gun out of his hand, shooting bullets in random places in the process.

Lucy luckily knew the drill and hid in a safe place, away from where she could possibly get shot.

My father and I were soon on the floor tackling eachother mercilessly. I grabbed the nearest object to me and slammed it across his head. He temporarily stopped moving before attempting to pin me down with his full force.

"You're going to die !" Said my father squeezing my shoulders while trying to pry me off him. I grunted in pain and eventually got off him but managed to escape his grip before he could pin me to the floor and shoot me. In the process he didn't realise that I had taken his gun from him and that now he was left without any weapons.

The bad guys never win dad, you should know that by now.

"It's over for you son- h-hey where's my gun ?! When did you-?!"

"You looking for this ?" I smiled smugly as I twirled the gun with my finger. "Looks like your time is up, Igneel." I sneered at him.

"You wouldn't ! You'd be following in my footsteps-you'd-"

"Au-revoir Igneel."

*BANG*

He's dead ! Igneel is dead !

I looked over to Lucy to celebrate my victory with her but for some reason she wasn't celebrating,
In fact she had a look of worry across her face.

"Natsu ! Move !" She shouted.

"Huh ?"

Before I knew it, I heard a gun trigger pull and Lucy jumping in front of me to protect me from the bullet.

"Now, now son. Ever heard of fake guns ? I'm always one step ahead of you. Didn't think I'd let you off that easy now did you ?" He sneered.

"Lucy ! No ! Why did you do that ?! Lucy ! Lucy ! LUCY !" I cried out loud, kneeling next to her body.

"So son, what do you say about another attempt at me killing you ?"

"No, this time Igneel, I'll make sure I fucking kill you !" I spat wiping my tears away from my eyes. "And if Lucy is dead, I'll make sure you die in the most painful way possible."

Sorry for updating late ! I had a proper exam today, like a really important one but I think it went ok !

My grandad suddenly collapsed today and couldn't move so the ambulance had to come and nobody at the hospital knows exactly what's wrong with him. I'm hoping for the best :(
