Chapter 8 - Mission

~Lucy POV~

I kept tossing and turning that night, unable to sleep. I was terrified to be going on that mission but I guess if Natsu is there to protect me I have nothing to fear. I don't get Natsu, one minute he's kind and the next minute he's back to being cold but I still feel attracted to him and hoped he would feel the same. Images of me kissing his cheek flashed in my mind and my cheeks began to flush. I eventually felt my eyelids start to get heavy and fell into a deep sleep trying to push the thought of tomorrow's mission to the back of my head.

~Natsu POV~

I woke up and let out a long yawn. I couldn't be bothered getting up but I had to complete this mission because that man doesn't just owe me money, he stole my mothers bracelet and I need it back. What I didn't tell Lucy is that I'm trading her for the bracelet. I quickly showered and got changed and grabbed some clothes for Lucy and walked towards her room. I slowly turned the door handle and entered the cold room.

She was sleeping peacefully and looked like a porcelain doll. Her skin was soft and pale, her golden hair slightly covering her left eye and she had cherry soft lips that you feel the urge to kiss. She also had a perfect curvy body. She was beautiful. I shook off the thoughts and remembered I wouldn't be seeing her again soon.

"Lucy wake up." I said and she groaned before opening her eyes.

"Natsu ? Why are you here ?" She asked suspiciously. She must've forgot about the mission.

"The mission. You need to get ready, have a shower in my bathroom." I said handing her over the clothes as she stretched and got out of bed.

"Natsu...." She said.

"Yeah ?" I answered wondering what's wrong.

"I'm scared, I have a really bad feeling about this...I don't know if I can trust you." This girl isn't dumb and I felt really bad for doing all this. I needed her to trust me so I could get my mums bracelet back.

I couldn't believe what I was about to do. I gave her a peck on the lips and she immediately blushed. "Can you trust me now ?" I said smiling but deep inside I felt guilty for using her like this and using a kiss just so she'd trust me and then later on have me betray her.

"Y-yes." She said and quickly scurried off to the bathroom to get changed.

A couple of minutes later she came out the bathroom and looked beautiful. This outfit looked perfect on her.

"Ready to go ?" I asked trying to smile but the guilt I was feeling was overwhelming and hard to ignore.

"Yep." She said smiling brightly at me.

We walked towards my red sports car and hopped in and started the engine. The drive was long and quiet and I looked over to see Lucy sleeping. Should I tell her now I'm trading her for a bracelet ? No bad idea, she'd never get out the car.

I stopped the car at the place he told me to meet him and hid a gun in my jacket pocket. He said if I brought any guns he'd kill Lucy in front of me and I didn't want that to happen. I gently shook Lucy and she fluttered her eyes open.

"We're here." I said trying to hide my sadness. I opened the car door as did Lucy and waited for the person that stole my mothers bracelet to come.

"What's wrong Natsu ? You've been too nice to me today, something isn't right..." She said suspiciously.

"N-no I'm f-fine." I said stuttering. I couldn't help it. I even told her yesterday I'm scared of losing my loved ones and here I am trading a girl that I am attracted to and the person I trust. A white big car pulled up near ours and I immediately recognised the man inside it.

"Sting.." I cursed. I knew it, how could I have not known it before. He swore revenge and he did it.

"Well hello Natsu, Heartfilia." He said in his usual annoying whiny voice.

"Shut up Sting and give me what belongs to me." I glared at him.

"Ohhh not so fast...remember our deal ?" He said looking over to Lucy.

"N-Natsu what deal ?" Said Lucy tearing up. I couldn't bear to see her like that. It's all my fault, but he has something precious to me and I need it back.

"Ohhh you haven't told her yet ? Tch, no wonder she came with you, can't believe she was dumb enough to come with you." He scoffed.

"Lucy I-"

"Natsu what did you do ?! I trusted you ! You kissed me so I would trust you didn't you ?!" She said with tears streaming down her face as she backed away from me.

"I'm sorry Lucy...I didn't want it to be like this I promise-"

"Natsu cut the sorry's and promises out because we all know you don't mean any of it ! Now tell me what's the deal ?!" She shouted back.

"Sting stole my mothers bracelet so I made a deal to trade you for the bracelet...I'm sorry I didn't know you were going to that monster...I-I don't want to lose you.." I said and this time I honestly meant it. I don't want to lose her. Her eyes widened and she backed away further from me and started sobbing harder.

"I can't believe you did this Natsu.." She says crying. I know Lucy I can't believe I'm doing this too...

"Enough of this Hollywood stuff, and you Lucy if you back away or try to run again I will not think twice about shooting you." Spat Sting.

"Don't you dare hurt her ! You said no guns !" I shouted at him. This is all his fault.

"I say a lot of things Natsu...did I say how much of a jerk you are too ?" He said and laughed at his own 'joke'.

He took the gun out his pocket and pointed it towards Lucy causing her eyes to widen. "I'm being serious blondie. Don't move. And Natsu don't you dare stand in front of her, if you the slightest bit towards her i will shoot her."

I cursed under my breathe. I can't give Lucy to him and I can't give her to anyone else, I want her. I want to stay with her and not have some creep stay with her, but I also want my mums bracelet because it's the only thing I have left of her.

"So Natsu, what's your choice Lucy or the bracelet." He said staring at me dead in the eye.

I mentally debated with myself for what felt like hours.

"So ?" Said Sting waiting for me to answer him. I felt Lucy's eyes on me the whole time.

"I pick....."
