Hi, so sorry for not updating for a while but as promised one chapter every month (even though its the 30th of April). Please enjoy and don't forget to comment and vote, it really helps me out.

P.S I stayed up through the night to finish this so please excuse any mistakes or certain time jumps that might not make sense. I re-read it once I wake up tomorrow <3

1990 - August

Estrella pov

It's August which means new staff and unlike my family I'm not going to force them to stay however there will be an unbreakable vow regarding loyalty. I don't need an ex-staff member to go running around telling everyone how I'd lose it occasionally.

"Estrella?" Ava asks.

"Yes," I reply.

"Can I ask something?" She asks slowly and almost carefully.

"What is the question about," I counter knowing it's probably sensitive territory if she is being this careful.

"You, your parents, your family," she lists to which I answer with a sigh.

"Hit me," I finally answer. My go ahead makes a significant amount of shock appear on Ava's face. She probably thought I would shut her out completely.

"Why do you continue with this, your family's way of doing things?" She asks.

"The first thing I ever learned was the legacy of the family and to protect it. My mother was a genius, my father commanded respect, when they died they left no instructions just a legacy to protect. I continue the practice because it's the only thing I have left of my parents. They left it all to me when they died. Though those instructions would have been nice," I explain groaning at the end. My fathers desk or I suppose my desk is filled with papers that I need to go through. I'm kind of starting to understand why they were constantly in a bad mood.

"You know I asked that question in hopes that you didn't have an answer or at least not a good one. But that, even I can understand that," she says softly. I look up at her and smile slightly. We live such different lives yet we are an ever living presence in each other's life. Our moment of understanding is disrupted when Jaqueline loudly bursts through the door.

"These new staff members are creeping me out. You say one joke about the Black family and they'll lecture for half an hour. I swear they know more about your family than you Estrella," Jaqueline states.

"How did you survive," I mutter as I roll my eyes.

"Special academy remember and besides you were only out there for a few minutes," Ava says laughing.

"I always knew that Gryffindors would be the death of me but I never imagined it would be you two and in this scenario," I say.

"You know for a 16 year old you're very serious," Jaqueline says. Both of them have of course aged (like normal people) and are approaching their thirties. While for me, Voldemort's curse still holds strong and I am still 16 years old as I was that night.

"Thank you for the wonderful reminder," I say sarcastically.

"Why are you so pissed about it? You're attractive looking and don't have to deal with all the unpleasantness of ageing?" Jaqueline asks.

"Because it was done to me without my permission. My body and mind was frozen and no one cared about my opinion. Also my magic keeps growing getting stronger everyday but my body isn't growing with it making it harder to contain."

Estrella pov

I wait all night for my father to join me, or my mother or both of them like the past couple of years. They don't. It's not like I should be suprised or even hurt, they're dead for Merlin's sake but it doesn't feel real. All my life they had been such powerful people and then in one moment they no longer were at all. But tonight it finally seems to click for me. They're dead and I'm alone. Looking up at the night sky I locate the stars they were named after.
