All I could do was stare at her. She was covered in blood from head to toe, her face covered with bruises. The blood was smeared all over her, I couldn't actually find any cuts that she could be bleeding from. Most of it was dried, so I'd say where she'd been bleeding has stopped for now. The inside of the closet had her blood smeared all through it too, God only knows how long she's been in here. This is a living nightmare.

"K-Katelyn? What the hell happened to you?" I stuttered.

"I'll explain in a minute. Keep your voice down, you don't want them to hear you. Right now, I need you to help me up, and I'll get you out of those ropes." She said, reaching up to me. I did my best to stick out my arm for her to grab onto, and she pulled herself up, using me to steady herself once she was on her feet. Her skin was pale underneath all the blood. Too pale.

She let me go of me, starting to hobble over to the nightstand. I was almost afraid she was going to fall over as unsteady as she was, but she made it. Katelyn opened the drawer, and pulled out a knife. Why didn't I think to look in there!? But then... why is there a knife just casually sitting in that drawer? I could see that it had blood on it, and it could only be Katelyn's. Katelyn came back over to me, standing behind me. I could feel her starting to cut me out of the ropes.

"Listen, I'm not your enemy. I won't hurt you. Henry tried to get me in on his little plan, but I refused, and that's how ended up like this in that closet, and that's also how Aubree got involved. He told her, and she jumped at the first chance to get her revenge on you." She said. So he did try to make Katelyn apart of this, but she said no. Well at there's one person here other than me that's not a complete lunatic.  "I also tried to run and warn you or Jimmy about what he was planning, but Henry caught me and also beat me for that too."

"How long have you been in there?" I whispered out.

"A few days. Just bleeding out in there, I lost a lot of blood. It's a wonder I'm not dead." She replied sullenly. I could tell that she wished she was. "I had no idea he was like this when I married him again. I'm so stupid."

"You're not stupid. He's good at deceiving, just like Aubree. It makes sense that they're cousins." I said, and she let out a small laugh.

"Never thought I'd hear those words come out of somebody else's mouth. Everybody sees and believes the lies. I know the truth, and apparently, to my relief, so do you."

The ropes loosened and fell to the ground, and it felt so good to have my hands free and be able to move my arms around. I flexed my sore wrists, stretching out my arms. I was suddenly very thankful for Katelyn, even if she was covered in blood.

"What happens when Henry or Aubree comes up here and sees you?" I ask.

"I'll listen for their footsteps and run back in the closet, so we better keep the door open just in case." She said, and I wanted to point out that she could barely walk, but I didn't. Probably if she knew one of them were coming, she could find the strength to run after what's happened to her.

"I'm going to get you out of here, or at least I'll try. You can't escape from the window, it's too high, and there's nothing to climb on the outside of the house. That means we have to wait for them to leave. At some point, they'll have to go out to get some things, like more rope. They used the last of it to tie up your hands. When they realize it's been cut, they'll want to go get more to retie you. But don't worry, I won't let them tie you. While they're gone, I'll get you out of here."  Katelyn told me in a hushed voice, and she kept looking over her shoulder at the door as if Henry and Aubree were going to bust through it right this very moment.

"You're going to get out of here too, right?" I asked, a little bit shocked at the moment that she was just telling all this out of nowhere. She was more focused on getting me out of here than herself. I would've thought that as soon as she was out of that closet, she'd take off. But it's almost like we're a team now that I've helped her, and she's helped me by getting my hands untied. I'm glad in a strange way that I'm not doing this alone.
