The next day, after receiving multiple beatings from Henry and Aubree the previous day, both Katelyn and I are so sore, we don't even want to breathe because it hurts. Her bruises have darkened now, and my neck feels like I slept on it wrong for two days, but it never goes away. I am now partially covered in blood, I almost look exactly like Katelyn except for the bruises on her face. Those haven't been issued to me yet.

Katelyn stood at the window, watching between the blinds for them to leave to get their rope and other shit. After I hear a car start up and drive away, she makes a disguisted sounds and makes her way back to the bed again, where she sits down.

"Only Henry went. That means Aubree's still here. Oh well, we'll just lock the bitch in a closet or something, if we can subdue her with something, that'd be great too. I think Henry has sedatives in his bathroom that he planned to use on us, or just you." She says, and I shudder. "We can jam one of those into her arm and she'll be out like light, then we just drag her off to a closet or something."

"May I do the honor of dragging her into a closet?" I ask innocently, and she laughs.

"Sure, I'd love for you to do it. Which means, I'll do the sedative. We're going to have to stick together and work as a team if we're going to do this. Henry should be gone for at least an hour, that's enough time for us to get Aubree knocked out, to find your phone, and to call the police."

I nod. "I have the knife, if for some reason we need it."

"Good. We might, you never know." She says. "Are you ready?" Katelyn stands up and extends a hand out to me. I have to admit, I'm kind of nervous, but I'm still going to do it.

I take her hand and pull myself up off the bed. "I'm ready." She gives me a reassuring smile before we make our way to the door. She goes to open it, but it won't budge.

"The fuck? It's locked!"

"Since when do they lock the door?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Since now, I guess. God, we haven't even gotten out of the room yet and already we need the knife. Hand it over." Katelyn said, and I gave her the knife. She started to pick the lock after getting down on her knees.

"Well, at least we're not using it to kill anybody. Yet." I look around the room as I wait, and I hear a small laugh come from her.

There was a click, and as I looked back at the door, I saw it slowly swing open. Katelyn looked up at me and whispered, "Got it." I helped her get up and took the knife back, and then quietly and slowly, we started to make our way down the hall to the bathroom.

The door to the bathroom was open, so Katelyn slipped inside and I stood guard outside the door, listening closely for any movement that might signal Aubree was coming. There was nothing but the faint sound of voices, coming from a TV downstairs.

A couple minutes passed, and then Katelyn stepped out of the bathroom again with a shot, the sedative. She gave a nod, letting me know it was ok to start going down the hall the rest of the way now, to the stairs. We tiptoed to the stairwell, peering around the corner. No one was at the bottom of the stairs.

We took it one step at a time, ever so cautiously descending to the first level. Thankfully, these stairs don't creak or anything, so it was easy getting down them. Both Katelyn and I took a deep breath when we accomplished getting downstairs quietly.

Then, we snuck into the living room, where we could see Aubree on the couch with her back to us. This is where the real job starts now. I held my breath, not even daring to breathe, so afraid that she'd hear. I stood by while Katelyn advanced ahead of me to get the sedative into Aubree.
