CoCo Spectra was sitting in Crimson Lights, looking for jobs on Linkedin on her tablet. She appreciated Adam giving her a home and never bugging her about working, but it was time that she got a job.
"CoCo?" A hesitant voice called out to her. She looked up to see Kyle approaching her, looking very awkward and very cute.
"Hey Kyle." CoCo greeted him in what she hoped was a casual tone. "Long time no see."
Kyle raised an eyebrow. Okay, this is the route we're going on. "Yeah, it's been a minute." The two of them chuckling awkwardly. "Can I sit?" He pointed to the empty chair across the table from her.
"Sure." She shrugged while her heart skipped several beats. "What'd you want to talk about?" Like she didn't already know. That night played on a never-ending loop in her head, but she couldn't bring herself to forget it. No matter how terrible that made her look.
"You know what I want to talk about." Kyle bluntly stated. "We need to discuss that night. And the morning after."
"Why here? Why now?" CoCo asked, her eyes darting around the coffee shop, making sure she didn't recognize anyone.
"Because in public, we can't be loud and dramatic." Kyle explained. "That way we can get everything out in the open."
CoCo snorted, "Yeah, we can also be overheard by anybody like gee I don't know, your wife." She said as if it were the obvious thing in the world. "Speaking of Summer, does she even know that we're friends?"
"Friends?" Kyle scoffed, "I think we've passed the friendzone."
CoCo narrowed her eyes and was about to retort when her phone rang. She looked down to see it was Abby. Huh, Abby had never called her before. "Abby's calling me. I should answer this." Kyle nodded, also curious as to why Abby would be calling CoCo.
"Hey Abby, what's up?" CoCo answered. She paused as Abby explained her reasons for calling. Kyle watched about twenty different emotions flash across her face. "What?" CoCo shouted making Kyle jump. "Please call me as soon as you hear something." She hung up the phone muttering under her breath.
"Umm, is everything okay?" Kyle cautiously asked. He was surprised at the panicked look in her eyes.
"No, yes, I don't know." CoCo stammered. "Somehow Sally was able to send some texts to Adam." Kyle's eyes widened, but he stayed silent as he knew there was more. "Thankfully, he was in Chance's office with him and Abby when he got them. Chance was able to trace the number and he and Adam are going to the location."
"Wow." Kyle replied, not knowing what else to say.
"Yeah," CoCo agreed. "My sister could be home today, or this could be a false lead. Chance would check right? Right?" She nervously rambled.
Kyle could see a meltdown coming and got up from the table. He helped CoCo up, saying that he had a more private place they could talk. That place turned out to be Mariah and Tessa's apartment. Kyle had been given a key for emergencies and so he could get their mail while they were gone celebrating Tessa's remission.
CoCo went to sit on the couch, Kyle sitting next to her. He held her hands as she struggled to catch her breath. Their eyes met and suddenly their lips connected. Before either of them knew what they were doing, their clothes were thrown off. It was a like a deep hunger that needed to be satisfied, and it was.
