Updating Niktor

Nick slowly entered his parents' house after saying goodbye to a departing Sharon and Connor. His heart broke for his nephew, that poor boy had suffered way too many tragedies for a boy his age, for anyone's age really. He also didn't envy Adam for the conversation he was going to have to have. It was a sad day when telling Victor Newman devastating news was easier than talking to your son.

"Mom? Dad? Are you here?" Nick called out as he entered the house.

"In the living room, Nicholas." Nikki answered, shouting. She turned to look at her husband, "I wonder what Nicholas wants." Victor shrugged. They could hear their son's footsteps and positioned themselves to face the entryway.

"Hi Mom. Dad." Nick hugged his mother then nodded at his father.

"Nicholas, you know you're always welcome here." Nikki began, "But I can tell by your face that this isn't a social call. What's going on?"

"I have an update on Sally and her baby." Nikki gasped and Victor looked concerned. "She was able to send Adam a text message and Chance was able to track the location. He and Adam went to rescue her."

"And they were successful?" Nikki asked.

Are they safe? Victor wrote on his whiteboard.

"Yeah, they're fine. Sally gave birth at the cabin and now they're at the hospital." Nick answered both his parents' questions.

"Cabin?!" Nikki shouted. Victor cocked his head in confusion.

Nick sighed, there was a lot that he clearly needed to explain. He gave his parents a quick summary of what little information he had. Adam could fill in the blanks later. "And that's about it." He finished, taking in the equally shocked looks on the faces of his parents.

"Poor Sally." Nikki muttered as she still digested what Nick told her.

Victor was nodding on the outside while fuming on the inside. That miserable lady should've never gotten into Adam's house. Time for a security overhaul. I'm going to have to fire everyone. Victor screamed in his head. Thank God Sally and my granddaughter are okay. Adam must be so happy.

"Yeah," Nick stammered. "She's at the hospital now with Adam and their daughter. Sharon's bringing Connor over right now."

"Do you know what her name is?" Nikki had an idea what Adam would've picked, but there was no guarantee.

"No, Sharon's going to text me when she finds out." Nick had the same thought as his mother. He knew how much Hope meant to Adam, he'd be shocked if the name wasn't there in some capacity.

What about Chelsea? Victor wrote on his whiteboard at the same time Nikki asked their son about his former daughter-in-law. "I noticed that you didn't mention Chelsea. Do you not have any updates on her?"

Nick let out an exhausted sigh. Victor and Nikki shared a look; something terrible had obviously gone down in that cabin. "I got this from Abby. Chelsea did everything she could to avoid capture including coming at Chance with a knife." Nikki gasped. "He had no choice but to shoot her. She's dead."

The trio fell silent after Nick finished his story. Nick looked down in reflection; wondering what had happened to the woman he once loved. Victor was sitting in his chair; his thoughts solely focused on Connor. Nikki bitterly scoffed, "What a selfish bitch." She muttered under her breath.

"Mom?" Nick questioned, looking up to see his mother's angry and disgusted face.

"I'm sorry but it's true, she was a selfish bitch. I know I wasn't the perfect mother but only a total narcissist would put her own child through all this suffering without a single thought. Not to mention the things she's done to Victoria and Adam and Sally and Sharon." Nikki ranted, mainly because Victor couldn't. "If she had a sliver of courage and love for Connor, she would've let Chance arrest her and face her crimes. She took the easy way out like always. A true selfish, egotistical con artist till the end."

Nick stared blankly at his mother wondering where this deep hatred for Chelsea came from. Clearly, she'd been holding onto these feelings for a long time. He looked over at his father to see the old man smirking with a proud look on his face. Victor grabbed his wife's hand and kissed it, showing his approval.

Nick's phone pinged signaling a message. "Hopefully this is Sharon with an update." He read the message, smiling he looked up at his parents. "It was Sharon, we have a name."

"What is it?" Nikki asked.

"Hope Theodora Newman. Theodora means God's gift according to Adam." Nick explained. "I like it."

"It's a beautiful name." Nikki smiled. Victor nodded in approval, memories of her namesake suddenly swimming in his head.

Nick got up to leave saying that Sharon was going to be home with Connor soon and he wanted to be there for support. He gave each of his parents a hug before departing. Nikki speaking for the both of them, sent her love to Connor.
