The hot water had long stopped running, and now, the only thing that trickled was the last drop of tension between you. Steam curled around your intertwined bodies, your backs resting against the tiled shower wall, heartbeats thudding in sync. Simon's hand brushed wet strands of hair from your face as his eyes roamed your features with a softness you rarely saw, a gaze that only appeared when the world was silent and he could drop every mask.

“You alright, love?” he asked, voice low and gravelly, thick with tenderness.

You smiled up at him, your body still humming from what had just passed. “I’m perfect. Are you?”

He leaned in and kissed your forehead, resting his lips there for a moment before pulling back to meet your eyes. “Never better. I like the sound of Mrs. Riley.”

A quiet giggle bubbled from your lips as you leaned into his chest. “I’ve been waiting to hear you say that.”

You stayed wrapped up in each other for a few more heartbeats before he finally helped you out of the shower. You slipped into your favourite deep emerald bikini, the one-piece that hugged your curves just right, accentuating your hourglass figure. Over it, you threw on a sheer chiffon kaftan , a delicate layer that danced around you like sea foam. Simon watched you the entire time, towel drying his hair, biting the inside of his cheek, his eyes filled with something primal.

“You’re not making it easy for me, love,” he murmured, slipping into his jeans and a black t-shirt.

You cocked a brow, smirking. “What? I thought this was my honeymoon look.”

He crossed the room in two strides and caught your chin between his fingers. “You’ll kill me if you keep looking like that.”

You pecked him lightly on the lips. “You’ll survive. Barely.”

Hand in hand, you walked out onto the beach as the golden light of late evening wrapped around everything like honey. The resort was quiet, the private stretch of Turks and Caicos sand kissed by waves as gentle as whispers. The sky blazed with oranges and pinks, soft clouds trailing behind like brushstrokes on a painting.

Dinner was served under a gazebo draped with sheer white curtains, fairy lights strung above. You sat across from Simon at a table lit by candles, the warm glow flickering against his strong features. A soft sea breeze rustled your kaftan and brought with it the scent of salt and blooming hibiscus.

“This place…” you sighed, lifting a bite of grilled lobster to your lips. “It’s unreal.”

He watched you eat, his mouth curled into a subtle grin. “It’s the smile on your face that makes it unreal.”

You shook your head, cheeks warm. “You always say the smoothest things.”

“They’re not smooth, they’re just true.”

You reached for his hand across the table, fingers lacing easily with his. “I never thought I’d have this. You. A love like this.”

His voice dropped, thick with sincerity. “Neither did I. Never thought I deserved it.”

You squeezed his hand. “You do. Every part of this life , you’ve earned it. I’m proud of you. Of us.”

He leaned across and kissed your knuckles. “You make me want to be a better man every day.”

After dessert , coconut panna cotta with lime zest , you both stood, barefoot now, the sand cool beneath your feet. The kaftan fluttered like wings as you wandered closer to the waterline, waves lapping at your ankles. The sun had dipped lower, kissing the sea goodnight. You felt free, wild, and completely alive.
